Original.

Smell of roasted barley. Very dark brown, brown head. Roasted, almost porter-like. One could briefly even assume it is one. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate, roasted malt, ash.

Many thanks to my Secret Santa! Dark dry nose. Hints of nuts and coffee. The beer starts deep and intense. Coffee, dark chocolate. Roasted malt, very dry with a smooth and not too intense bitterness. The aftertaste is medium, roasted dry, espresso, dark roasted hazelnuts, dark chocolate. Great!

Bottle 0,33L. Dark, ruby brown - chessnut colour with large, creamy, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, cappucino. Taste starts slightly acidic with coffee, chocolate and cacao on tongue, while finish is medium bitter. Medium to full body, texture somewhere between watery and oily, soft carbonation.

As I am not too overly fond of pilsners, some of my favorite Czech beer experiences were beers like this. A ruby beer with a roasted malt, toasted bread aroma, it tastes like well roasted malt, maybe pumpernickel, coffee, chocolate and toffee. A little watery, it goes down really well, specially alongside amazing Czech gulash or potato soup!

Draft @ Prague Beer Museum. Lovely black. Rich malty aroma. Really ideal flavors are pure, excellent black lager goodness.
