Cask, Burton Fest 07. Black with a small beige head. Aromas are lots of roast coffee with hints of lactose. Some dark chocolate. Dry with some berry sourness. Flavours are dry and earthy yet smooth coffee. Very roasty with plain chocolate. Gritty on the finish. Very good.

Cask@25th Burton Summer Beer Festival, 2007. Black beer with a light head. The aroma is roasted and the flavour is very bitter and coffee, too bitter for my taste. Overall a very strong coffee flavoured stout.

Cask-conditioned at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol March 2007. Near black with a decent beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, roast malt and plain chocolate. More chocolate in the flavour before a long, dry roasted finish. Very good.

Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. Supplied to them through Hilden. Black colour with dark brown edges, thin tan head. Some sweet roasted malt. Some very nice choc. Good finish. Bit of powder, more choc. Bit grainy. Very good stout, well put together.
