Chocolate, licorice and roasted barley are strong in both the aroma and flavour. Opaque black body is topped by a creamy, fine bubbled, tan head that lasts well and coats the glass (nitro). Reminiscent of Beamish in it’s sweetness. Creamy smooth mouthfeel with moderate but soft textured carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub.

(Draught at the brewpub on 2008-07-02) Black. Medium-sized, dense, long-lasting tan head. Liquorice and roasted malts in nose. Medium and dry palate. Roasted and even burnt malts, bitterness, coffee in taste. Dry bitter aftertaste. Bit watery.

On tap at Messrs Maguire in Dublin. Pours an opaque, heavy looking black with a thick, creamy white head. No real carbonation. Aroma is suspiciously absent... slight roasted aroma if you search. Flavor is strong with a healthy dose of chocolate plus plenty of toast and grain. Creamy in the mouth. Great session beer and by far the best they had on tap while I was in.

Black with a smooth white head. Somewhat light although it hosts such delicat flavors as licorice and coffee.

Had it on tap at the brewpub in Dublin. Basically Messrs version of an Irish stout. Black as night with a dense, off-white head. Nitrogenated. Very rasty flavor with a hint of hoppiness. smooth finish. Solid brew, similar to Guiness.

Veyr nice stout, the dry type, I liked it, but I prefeer still more the other kind of stouts. But this one is very good, I like the guys from Messrs. because of their beers, they never dissapint me.

At the Messrs. Maguire bar in Dublin. Off white creamy lasting head. Reddish dark brown color. Coffee aroma. Pretty bitter taste. Slightly alcoholic taste surprisingly. Really roasty and some chocolate in there as well.

19/05/06 Messrs. Maguire Dublin. Black body with a decent light tan head. Vegemite and yeast. This was the best of the lot that I tried. Nice grainy bitterness with a medium body.
