3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at the pub. Black with a thin off white head. Aroma is sweet with chocolate notes. Flavour is slightly sweet with roast and chocolate, plently of malt in the background. Not as creamy as some Irish stouts

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at the Brewpub: Pretty typical, almost black in color with a tan cascading head. Chocolate and roastiness to the nose. The taste is something else. I like chocolate stouts, but this was about all that you tasted, and there was no balance. The Guinness that they also pour in the pub is far superior to this brew. This was pretty much a standard classic Irish stout, except for the chocolate. Just a bit too much of it!

Draught @ Messrs. This is their best brew. A nice simple stout that is not exceptional but very sessionable.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draught at the brewpub in Dublin, under the name ’Stout’. I assume it’s this one. Black body, thick brown head. Sweet aroma, raisins and malt. Taste a bit weak and has quite a boring finish. Nothing wrong here, but nothing special.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was the best of the beers tasted. The pub is well worth visiting on the Liffy near the O’Connell Bridge. The stout poured pitch black with tan head that laced down the glass. You detect the aroma of coffee and smoke at the beginning. The stout was a medium body beverage with soft carbonation. The stout had a dry finish with rich coffee aftertaste.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a deep, dark black with a thick, creamy, off-white head (nitro pushed, just like all other stouts here in Dublin). The aroma is a bit more than other stouts here - some roasted grains, some chocolate, and some earthy hops. The flavor is quite luxurious. The texture is velvety and complements the flavor quite well, which has notes of coffee and chocolate and less hop aroma and flavor than other dry Irish stouts. The finish is dry with an after-taste like a mocha - rich coffee with hints of chocolate.
