Gravity at Birmingham Beer Fest. Nice red beer (there were a lot on this evening). Rusty indeed - metallic, slightly nutty, but mostly just flaky malt, with hints of oven roasted tart. Quite good really.

UPDATED: FEB 1, 2006 I do not find the thing about ale beers, english style, it is like drinking piss, bitter to the bone and they taste like a tea. BUt this is was better than some english tap beers. I liked and cheers to the waitress.

Red-orange colour with a thick creamy white head. Again, lots of fruitiness in this one but also some woodsy, resiny hop aroma. Flavour is also fruity, with some residual sweetness and the dry-hopping is noticed (and appreciated). Finish is much more bitter than I expected from the style, like the Irish Ale I had at the Porterhouse. Still very good.

Draught at the Brewpub: It looked good enough, as it poured a clear, copper-amber color. There was a tight, white, nitro head on it. There was a bit of an aroma of pine and grapefruit hops to the nose. Where did they go? They were not evident in the taste at all. In fact, there wasn't much taste evident at all. It had some sweetness, but was thin and bland. Boring!

A beatiful beer to look at! Head like a polished floor. A very soft palate, a bit sour and flavour from saffron.

(on draugh at The Rover, Goteborg) Amber color with a smooth off-white head. Aroma and flavor with notes of saffron.
