11.2 fl.oz. flip-top. This ale pours extremely dark with little bits of brown and red showing at the edges. Not too much head, even w/ a hard pour. Opening the flip top was like a nasty vinegar fart, fortunately the general aroma after that was more bearable; cherry, yeast, cider and more vinegar. The tastes varied greatly thoughout the whole experience. The sweet tartness is up front then mixes with some strong malts to fade back to sour. The finish is much like a lambic. Very good, and complex. like $3

From tap. The aroma was like a real rodenbach with sweet and sour cheries. But the taste... It’s like They have add a ton of sugar. Bad bad bad

Deep dark plums and prunes under a consistently creamy head that is a blend of khaki and plum hues. Swirls creamy.
Sour cherries and fresh sweet black cherries. Gentle red wine vinegar esters. Tart plums. Musty red wine including the barrels in which they were matured for some added tannins.
Sour with just a kiss of sweetness with a creamy, velveteen mouthfeel. Pulpy black cherries followed by sour cherries, tart purple/black grapes, and plums. Simple and complex at the same time. My tongue tingles. Bitter tannins along the sides – plum, grape, and cherry skins. Vinous in the middle with some red wine vinegar and oak matured rustic red wine. Oak tannins underneath.
A delicious sour ale/wild ale. It’s no secret that I have a sour tooth and by the time my glass was empty, my tooth was more than happy. It is interesting to note that within the Netherlands this beer is only sold as a sweetened lower ABV sour ale do to various liquor laws, but for export, the brewery was able to brew the original recipe for our quaffing pleasure.

On tap at The Porter Beer Bar. Pours dark amber with white head. Aromas of cherry, little wood, sweet malts, and some funk. Flavor is loaded with sweet cherries, some funk and wood, and nice amount of tartness. Good mouthfeel and carbonation. Nice sour.

Clear brown, beautiful creamy beige lasting head. Aroma is sour, vinous, toffee, butterscotch. Taste is like aroma but sweeter. Bit low on carbo and taste a bit too sweet.

11/3/12. On tap at Kickback’s. Deep amber/brown pour with a huge, fluffy khaki head that lasts and coats the glass in thick lacing. Sweet and sour aroma with bits of wood, funk, and deep sweetness. Sweet entry with lots of cherry, some powdered sugar, wood, and a hint of menthol. Tasty!

On tap at the Livermore Saloon. It pours a nice dark ruby red/brown color with a nice tan head. The aroma is sour cherry candy with hints of leather. The flavor is sweet cherries with a hint of funk, leather and a hint of chocolate. Light bodied. Balance is more toward the sweet side than sour. Only faults are lack of complexity and light body. Enjoyable sour.

On tap at Churchkey’s Night of the Living Ales event. Poured a ruby red color with a huge white head - had to wait for this one to settle down a bit. Aroma was slightly sweet, with a mild note of balsamic in there - perhaps that’s not the right description, but it’s what I hit upon when I had it at the time. Aroma was sweet, mild tartness, but overall mostly sweet. Fruit notes aren’t bad at all, perhaps also noticed a touch of smoke in this one too. Nice sweet brew, with fruity notes.

Tap: dark brown with large frothy white head. Aroma is funky, tart and some barnyard qualities. Flavor has a slight toasted wood, tart cherry, and a hint of creamy caramel. Palate is sweet and sour, a good balance and nice acidic full mouth feel. Rather easy drinking for a sour beer. Good balance and flavor.

Sour nose. Too dark in bar to appreciate color. Palate was light, not offensive but lacking. Tasted like a high end sour cherry juice. Very drinkable but diasappointing for a sour. Wanted more depth of sour
