COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When Simon Metcalfe came to Vermont from Yorkshire in the late 1700s, he undeoubtedly brought with him his taste for the fine hard ciders made in England. Today we're endeavoring to continue the tradition of ciders that have been made in New England since colonial times. To do this, we use a unique blend of Vermont-grown apples, including many that were more common when cider was New England's most popular drink. Our blend includes such cider favorites as Winesap, Baldwin, Northern Spy, Rhode Island Greening and Golden Delicious.

First off, this is the first cider I’ve had since my college days and Woodchuck. Pours clear yellow and very still. Nice sweet and tart aroma, very crisp. Flavor is a bit too sweet, I’d rather have it be a bit more tart and crisp. It is dry, however. Very crisp. Nice.

A apple juice look on pour. Smells of apples as well. It is a very sweet cider but pleasing after you’ve had a glass or too. Not to potent but enough to get you feeling it.

(Rating #1358)

750ml bottle: Pale yellow body without carbonation. Very fine particles can be seen suspended in the body, but to be honest it takes concentration to really see them because it’s mostly clear and filtered. The aroma shows some crisp & sweet apple and just a bit of lightly tart apple. Smells very fresh. Taste is fresh apples as well as a bit of tart apple, with just a hint of alcohol showing through, creating light flavors of clove, then some hints of wood. Light bodied, still, finishes with some light residually sweet apple.

Pours yellow and fizzy. Smells of tarte ripe apples with a hint of spices. Flavor is light and clean with hints of tarte apples.

Lightly spicy aroma is bursting with fresh apples. Clear golden body is quite viscous on the sides of the glass. Quite dry, woody flavour has plenty of sweet apple character that lingers into a leafy finish. Medium-dry body - feels dry across the tongue but has plenty of residual sweetness. Wine glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottle (Winooski Beverage Warehouse, Dec-05).

Poured a pale golden color with no head. A very still cider. Sweet and funky, apple, and vanilla aroma. Aroma was very sweet and spicy. The first sip knocked my socks off. Taste was that of a nice apple pie. Very sweet, though tartness was also included, as well as cinnamon, and crisp apples. The mouthfeel did not hold up to the taste. But this was still a very nice cider.

750 ml bottle. Pale golden, no carbonation; is that what "English-style" means? Pleasing soft sweet apple/vanilla/cinnamon aroma. Flavor is fairly sweet also, with a bit of tartness at the end and also some metallic hints, but not enough to really ruin it. Above average cider with a good dry/sweet balance that just isn't distinguished enough for me to be likely to try it again.
