Rune (7988) - Tromsř, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2009
650ml dark blue, Yuletide-decorated bottle bought at Vinmonopolet in Harstad, and shared with Eva on a Saturday eve. Clear golden-amber body topped by a thin, ring of dimples. Pale malty aroma with an artificial impression. Sweet malty taste with notes of fresh berries and lemony fruits. Herbal dry endnotes. Lively carbonated. Some refreshments, sparse Christmas mood [Tromsř, 03.01.2009].

Dogbrick (7959) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Pours a dark amber-gold color with a medium somewhat fizzy white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, musty malt and fruit. Light body with a sweet syrupy mouthfeel and flavors of caramel malt, citrus and a hint of hops. The finish is short and malty. Guess I shouldn’t approach a beer with certain style expectations due to a holiday label but this beer is pretty forgettable regardless of the season.

On tap at the Draft House, Tower Bridge on 8 February 2011 (as Meteor Biere d’Hiver). Orange in colour. Sweetish and quite fruity. Not much hop character in evidence. That’s about it really. Difficult to place style-wise - at least it’s not listed as a Biere De Garde. Overall, pleasant enough but not hugely interesting.

KyotoLefty (6318) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 24, 2008
Bottle in Strassbourg, 2006. Called Biere Aromatisee a l’orange, and it sure was. Amber color. Basically a cheap beer, with a little more malt character than their pils, but still not near enough. Hopping was not too bad. There was a ton of orange in there, certainly some kind of syrup as it was very sweet and caramelly. It was drinkable, but basically cheap alcopop. Slightly interesting, but forgettable.

larsga (6177) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 18, 2008
Medium offwhite head. Copper body with light carbonation. Fruity, lemony aroma with notes of lime. Sweetish fruity lemony taste, again with a kind of lime background. Clean, medium mouthfeel. Dry malty caramelly aftertaste dominated by the same lemon/lime character. Not terribly complex, and extremely unusual, but quite OK. This is really the beer Corona should have been. What the association with Christmas could possibly be I really couldn’t say. (0.65l bottle from the wine monopoly.)
