Light chestnut color. Light whisky in the nose, but lacking in much else. Lagerish, with a vague hint of the whisky. Not cloying like MacGregor, but just as bland.

Nice amber body with small beige head. Initially, aroma is sweet and malty, and taste is caramel and fairly sweet. Once it warms, peat aroma sneaks in, and the whiskey malt flavor starts appearing, particularly with smokiness in the aftertaste.

not as strong tasting as I thought it would be. still, it’s a nice whisky-ish beer, sweet, with an almost syrupy texture.

Served best when very cold. Sweet ale aroma with a slight whisky tinge. The flavour of the beer has a slight similarity to a spirit, with a slight bitter edge. For 8% the beer is not too strong in taste,in fact it is better than you would expect.

This is sort of an odd beer - the clear bottle doesn’t bother me like it bothers others. I think it’s misclassed as a ’smoked’ beer - a rauchbier it’s not! It’s a tad like a scottish malt ale, quite decent. Slight head. If whiskey were a beer, it might be a bit like Mortimer.

It has a nice colour, but no head to speak of. This smells of whisky and grain. This is quite a smooth beer. Not much aftertaste, though.

The bottle screams of cheapness, but putting that aside i’m willing to be open minded. It has a decent malty, and slightly fruity smell about it. Pours with little head and moderate carbonation. I do get the whiskey flavour, although not as much as i perhaps expected. To be fair, its half decent, although nothing more. I’m glad i’ve tried this whiskey beer, but it wont be the first style i head back to the beer shop for.

Mine is packaged like a 750ml of cheap whiskey. No cork, just a cap and a brown label. This looks like something to brown bag. I can only dream that bums in Benelux guzzle this imported shit in alleyways -- because it isn’t bad! But it does seem like the General Brewing Company’s answer to Chimay Premiere. It’s wet, too dry, and the bitter is too flat (without aromatics) but it’s good.
