Bottled. Pours a medium golden color. Has a somewhat acidic skunky aroma. Fairly smooth malty flavor. A hint of skunkiness. Slight grainy bitterness as well. Drinkable.

Thanks Saarland. Pale yellow color, fizzy head on top. Skunkeldoodeldoo nose. Watery, weak body - some grassy notes.

This would be a good candidate for www.RateWater.com . Vapid and flavorless really. How can you rate something with no taste? OK, slight veggie nose, light citrus malt that goes by in an instance. Virtually no bitter. There.

Saarlander (1685) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - MAR 1, 2006
This one suprised me to no end, I was expecting a corny, bland beer, but this one was hopped way more than i expected, had a nice flavor, and was nice to drink, will drink again!

tiggmtl (4548) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 2, 2005
Mild herbal hops and grainy malts in the fairly sweet aroma. Clear golden body with low white head that lasts well and leaves a slight lacing on the glass. Light vegetal character to the grainy flavour with some herbal hop notes and soft finishing bitterness. Light body with soft carbonation. I think I’d have preferred it if this had been more assertive in some fashion. As is, it came across as a fairly wishy-washy pils. Bottle. Entered from notes.

Keg in Colmar, France. Amber coloured, excessively gassy, short head. Really not much to say, a distinctly unimpressive pale lager, cardboardy, soggy and completely tasteless. Poor.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pilsener golden with a rather decent and stable head. Brewed with Saazer hops although they leave no obvious traces. Has an odd and unpleasant, sourish tang. Go for the ordinary lager from the same brewery - if it must be lager.... 220705

Bottle. Pale golden colour with a small white head. Malty, hoppy aroma and taste, light bitter. Medium body and a sweet light bitter finish.

I’ll tell you the truth - I got this at €1.23 for a sixer (baby 25 cl bottles, but still). Based on my experience with cheap brews from Alsace I wasn’t expecting much. Therefore my overall is 15, it well exceeded my expectations. It’s true, it has an aftertaste that really is unpleasant at times, but it’s not so strong as to ruin the entire beer. It has a lot of flavor. Quality-to-Price its one of the better French beers I have had lately.
