« Meteor pils is a superior qualitu beer and the result of a unique know-how. Made in 1927 by Louis Haag and his son Frédéric, its authentic, exclusive recipe is a skilful combination of nole ingredients, particularly hops from the Czech Republic (Saaz) and Alsace (Strisselspalt). Its pale yellow colour is crowded by an abundant, airy head that holds out the promis of great finesse. Particularly light and sparking, it gradually asserts its smooth bitterness before opening up it rich, floral aromas and offering an intense freshness.

Probably the best beer made in France. Clear color. Great and fresh aroma, citrus... and a soft taste of a good central european beer

After cycling through Provence we stop at the L'Auberge Du Donjon cafe in the pretty village of Le Pegue. At that moment this beautifully balanced and freshly drawn pilsner with a healthy dose of malt and hops is the best drink in the world.

I’ll tell you the truth - I got this at €1.23 for a sixer (baby 25 cl bottles, but still). Based on my experience with cheap brews from Alsace I wasn’t expecting much. Therefore my overall is 15, it well exceeded my expectations. It’s true, it has an aftertaste that really is unpleasant at times, but it’s not so strong as to ruin the entire beer. It has a lot of flavor. Quality-to-Price its one of the better French beers I have had lately.

On draught in Berlin. Honey golden with a fluffy white head that lasts all the way through. Smooth oily texture with a sweet aftertaste. Super pils

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2007 courtesy of Laurent Mousson - clear and bright golden colour, very little foam; solid flowery hoppiness in the nose; medium-bodied, crisp and clean with a decent bitterness; it finishes quite dry with long flowery hoppy notes - a good pils

Draught somewhere in Paris. Golden coloured. Bready malt aroma with some hops. Bready flavour with a dry and hoppy finish. Clean and refreshing. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation level. A quite solid and very pleasant pilsener.

Less than sparkling lager appearance, but with a rather fruity and sweet nose. Refreshing dryly hopped flavour with a fairly sweet finish. The beer improves after each bottle drunk.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2009 Typical Alsacian pils, heavy hops flavour, not pasterized, nice for the summer.

330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear pale gold, long-lasting white head, steady stream of bubbles. Looks very nice in fact. Light grassy aromas, not much else. Taste is light bitter. Thin body, clean finish. Not bad.
