Not a bad Biere de Garde. Aroma was nice. Sweet malt and grains are very big and full. Smells delicious. Pour was a nice clear light gold with a one finger white head. Taste was a little on the sweet side but was pretty good. Sweet, light and grainy with nothing much coming through other than sweet malt.Tastes like freshly drawn wort with carbonation. Decent beer

330. Pours a crystal clear medium gold with a scant wispy white head. Loose spotty lace. Big sugary nose, just overflowing with white sugar. Honey and aluminum there as well. Lot of aluminum. Watery light body with light carb. Aluminum and carbonic bite on the mid-palate, very like a glass of tonic water. CO2-ish finish. Unpleasant.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bhensonb (8981) - Woodland, California, USA - JAN 6, 2012
Bottle (250) from Paula. Pours gold with a creamy white head. Aroma is sort of earthy/grassy. Med body. Flavor is slightly sweet, with some sort of flower or herb, and it has an underlying barnyard tinge. The level of sugar sort of detracts from the earthy note. Still it’s very drinkable.

250ml bottle. This abbey drew the short straw. This beer isn’t deserving of the abbey name, similar to leffe.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BillKismet (3000) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 2, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 23, 2012 Vigorously lively-bodied, golden-bronze with a 1/2 thick, Brussels-laced head. Bready nose with a musky prick of spice. The aromatics make this seem like a full-grain meal in a glass. The body is lively, and at the same time, a bit syrupy, doughy, and honey-peppered. Well-balanced and quite a bready treat. A nice change of pace. Re-rated 2-23-12: Banana bread taste is much more pronounced--it has a bit of unripe banana to it.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mellonius (71) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - DEC 14, 2011
Poured from 330 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Nice thick and foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is very sweet, honey notes evident with some Belgian style fruitiness. Bubble gum somewhere. Almost none bitterness and a quite disappointing lack of hops in the afterstate, which does not linger for long enough. Almost watery. If it wasn’t for the high ABV and perhaps excessive sweetness, could be a sessionable brew.
