3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Oakes (10202) - Gibsons, - APR 11, 2006
Black colour. Chocolatey, lightly coffeeish aroma with background wood and nuts. Light body does get a little thin and pronounced raw coffee bean notes show through. Finishes a bit creamy. Not bad, but it doesn’t finish all that well.

On tap at brewery: Smooth and weighty on the tongue. Richly malted and chewy-sweet. Lactic-like sweetness with hints of creamed coffee and milk chocolate. Softly roasted. Moderate hops provided a balanced bitterness without overpowering the malt side. Tasty porter, albeit on the sweet side ... I could only drink one.

(22oz bottle) Purchased at the brewpub in Twisp for an insanely cheap $3.70 plus taxes. Pours a lasting thin, beige grey head atop an opaque body. Nose is surprisingly fruity and hoppy with some buried coffee notes. Flavour is sweet with a front of toasted malt and some undertones of cherry wood and cold coffee. Good stuff. Really impressed with this brewpub.

Aroma: Dark malt aroma with some chocolate and coffee aroma.
Appearance: Dark brown in color, Clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Nice dark malt flavors with a chocolate flavor wonderfully coming out.
Palate: Dry Finish, with a Good Mouthfeel.
Overall: I should have grabbed a bottle or two of this. A very nice brew.

Black with very little head. Very light roasted porter...good session beer, but not worth trying really.
