Aroma notes of bread, cereal, no hops whatsoever. (I’ll get back to that in the taste section.) Color is a nice golden, medium dark honey. A weakish head, with not much staying power, but proper carbonation seems to be present. Taste is unassuming and rather bland. Some sweetness, very, very little hops, not much complexity, grainy, and despite a somewhat (albeit light) caramel color, no notes come through at all. The finish does show a maltiness, that overstays its welcome. Not horrible, definitely drinkable on a hot day, but no more than an average amber, actually, slightly below average.

Thanks to Randy for this. Decent easy drinking Amber ale not terribly complex and less balanced and more watery than others. Some mineral flavors though. Serving: Bottle

Just a slight step down from the Blond, but then again maybe not. It’s very pleasant.

22oz bottle 8/17/10 (Corner Cottage)-46° in English Pint-Pours a slightly hazy dark golden with a small off white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and toffee. Taste of the same with a bit of hops thrown in. This light to medium bodied brew is pretty basic.

Dogbrick (4843) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2010
This beer is a clear amber color with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Cereal malt aroma with touches of hops. Light and very carbonated body with flavors of bready malt, light hops and a bit of caramel. The finish is malty with a left over caramel sweetness. Average overall.

VTHopHead (1387) - Barre, Vermont, USA - DEC 13, 2009
Bottle/22 - Poured a reddish amber in color with a medium tight white head that stuck around. Some small lacing on the glass. Aroma was a mixture of bready yeast and medium roasted malts, though not that strong for either. Taste was a bit disappointing at first, with a slight metallic aftertaste that detracted from the entire experience. Some malty sweetness with little bitterness to balance; not strongly flavored. A bit watery. I’ll skip this one the next time.

CaptainCougar (6857) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 4, 2009
Bottle sampled in Nov 2008: Pours a transparent orange amber with a thin, off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel toffee and a hint of piny hops. Starts with average fullness and decent toasty caramel malty sweetness and a mild bitterness with some effervescent carbonation before a slightly drier toasty finish. A pretty average and drinkable amber beer.

22. Pours a lightly hazy rubied medium amber with a dense creamy tan head that falls away quickly. Soon it’s headless, laceless, and looks flat. Woody, somewhat cedary nose. Kind of sweet smelling. Creamy medium body, seems a bit flat. Pencil shavings and graham crackers on the mid-palate, but staleness is definitely a factor. Mild, neutral sweet finish.

2009 Bottle - Pours orangey amber with a medium sized off white head...aroma is bready and roasty, with some serious metal...flavour is similar, caustically bitter metal, dry malt and some light spicy grain...thats about it...
