If malt and hops are the two poles of brewing, this beer is the gently spinning sweet spot between them. First, you’ll notice the spicy aromas of Perle and Hallertau hops. Then - wipe the foam off the tip of your nose - dive into the toasty flavors of Vienna and Munich malts. Dynamo starts strong and finishes crisp and smooth. The balanced flavors, aromas, and even the coppery-red tones of this beer go great with everything. Fear no pairing. The best time to enjoy Dynamo is when you’re thirsty. Dynamo Copper Lager goes great with pizza, neighborhood block parties, spring rolls, first dates, football games, whiskey, tapas, the Sunday newspaper, late-night burritos, veggie omelets, business lunches, grilled mushrooms, pretzels, political debate, corn-on-the-cob, classic sci-fi flicks, mixed greens, campfires, salmon, billiards, cherry pie, rock shows, pumpernickel, salsa, grand openings, peanuts, sewing bees, extra sharp cheddar cheese, and holidays. Received a 12-oz bottle via trade with guyinchicago. Pours a semi-clear light golden amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of golden and caramel multi-grain malt, some citrus, white bread and a touch of tropical fruit. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with flavors of caramel malt, some flowery hops, light citrus zest and a touch of popcorn. Finish is semi-dry with a short lived caramel and flowery hops aftertaste. Has a tad extra hop bitterness for most Vienna style beers I’ve head but still a decent micro craft beer.

Found this one bottled at Binny’s in St. Charles. Hazy medium brown pour with a lacy, thin white head, light malty, apple and a touch of rosy hops in the nose, nice complex malt character, orange, pineapple, slightly spicy, with a fine, dry finish. This was a nice brew!

Light amber with small head. Light caramel malts and solid bitterness to finish. Light sweetness, with a nice balance all around. Perfect six-pack beer to grab for a spring bbq.

Bottle from a new Chicago brewer picked up at the Binny’s in Orland Park, Illinois: Nice pour, a clear orange body with a tall off-white head. The aroma was sweet, lightly toasted malts with a touch of caramel. Just a bit of earthy hops are added to the flavor to keep all that rich sweetness in check. Nicely brewed.

12 oz. bottle. Nice first effort by a new Chicago brewer. Bright Vienna malt smell in the pour, matching beer color, thin layer of bubbles. Dials back the hops to let some crunchy, toasty malts to the foreground. Fills me up pretty well. A bit of German hop pepper builds up on my soft palate. Worth presenting and serving as a good new Chicago beer, while all the sports and tourist venues keep spewing Miller-Bud.

16 oz draft poured on tap at Binnys South Loop (chicago, I’ll). Pours a moderate amberish hue, slight haze, moderate offwhite head that sticks around and laces, and well carbonated. Aromas are a bit or german hoppiness, light carmelized malts, a touch of malt stink. Initial has a good body for the style, light carmel malts balanced by german hoppiness, that bitters a bit on the finish, and the stink comes through. Pilsner malts? Where is the Vienna Spice? Finishes a touch toast and a touch hop. Ok, a good fresh replacement for sam adams but nothing to write home about. I am excited for and worried about this brewery at the same time. Cheers.

Picked up at Binny’s Glen Ellyn. Light orange pour with small white head. Caramelly aroma, with german hops and some sweet malt. Flavor is crisp and slightly caramelly. Nice finish of bitter hops. Dug this brew and am glad for more chicago brews.

12oz bottle 3/18/09 (Sam’s Wine & Spirits-Downers Grove)-Pours a medium golden body with a small white covering for a head. Aroma of hops, malt, and caramel. Taste of the same with a nice roasted malt flavor coming in the middle and lasting through the end. This medium bodied brew is a nicely balanced beer with great flavors. Nice job.
