COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If malt and hops are the two poles of brewing, this beer is the gently spinning sweet spot between them. First, you’ll notice the spicy aromas of Perle and Hallertau hops. Then - wipe the foam off the tip of your nose - dive into the toasty flavors of Vienna and Munich malts. Dynamo starts strong and finishes crisp and smooth. The balanced flavors, aromas, and even the coppery-red tones of this beer go great with everything. Fear no pairing. The best time to enjoy Dynamo is when you’re thirsty. Dynamo Copper Lager goes great with pizza, neighborhood block parties, spring rolls, first dates, football games, whiskey, tapas, the Sunday newspaper, late-night burritos, veggie omelets, business lunches, grilled mushrooms, pretzels, political debate, corn-on-the-cob, classic sci-fi flicks, mixed greens, campfires, salmon, billiards, cherry pie, rock shows, pumpernickel, salsa, grand openings, peanuts, sewing bees, extra sharp cheddar cheese, and holidays. UPDATED: MAY 18, 2009 Bottle from guyinchicago. pours a (shocker)copper color. Very malty on the nose. But along with the malt comes some aluminum foil notes...metallic is what I am trying to say. Flavor is malty, lagery and overall not that great. I am surprised to see the rating as high as it is.

Bottle that starts out looking dingy gold and ends with a color that a generous observer might call copper (on some sort of limited color wheel). Head is a small film of tiny bubbles and aromas are grassy with some caramel and biscuit maltiness. Flavor is dominated by watered down biscuit with a bit of honey and a little bit of a grassy presence in the finish. It’s good enough, but kind of boring.

Bottle thanks to blutt59. Pours a hazy light amber with a white head. Aroma of some faint toasty notes and light maltiness. Flavor is the same as aroma with a little hop personality. Mouth feel is light bodied. Overall, not all that bad...

JMerritt (1776) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - JAN 18, 2012
Rich copper color with a little haze. Large off-white head is very frothy and long lasting. Grainy straw aroma has, at moments, some bright sourness underneath. Metallic flavors up front wane into a grainy wheat and sweet corniness that ultimately ends slightly sour and minerally. Not the best, but not terrible.

Bottle sample from STLWill (Thanks!) Orange/yellow pour with a metallic aroma. Flavor was that of any standard run of the mill lager, but finished a little bitter.

On tap at Hop Leaf, compared directly to another vienna-style lager, Eliot Ness from Great Lakes. This came out the loser. Clear copper amber, mediocre white head. Lightly fruity, and a little skunky/sweaty. Much thinner mouthfeel than the Eliot Ness. Mediocre at best.

7/27/2010: Metropolitan Dynamo Copper... Aroma: Creamy toothpaste; cooked apple with toffee. Appearance: Hazy copper color; dense, creamy, and lasting beige head; solid lacing. Flavor: Brown sugar; a touch of buttery; earthy bitterness; some toffee and roast: oxidized cherry and green apple. Palate: Medium-full body, really creamy and smooth. Overall: Decent, but confusing.

Draught at Dugan’s in Chicago. Rating #98 for this beer.

Bottle thanks to 17thfloor for sharing. Pours a clear copper with a white bubbled head. Toffee and toasted malts in the aroma with something off, not sure what. Extremely malt nose though. Creamy toffee malts that become dirty in a bad bad way. There are a few solid components to this beer, but something is really off with this one.

12 oz bottle, someone brought over for the superbowl. Nothing special but at least its from Chicago. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin white head. The nose is caramel malt and earthy hops. The taste pretty much follows suit. Medium bodied. An ok beer.
