3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
G: Pilsner Urquell pilsener glass.
A: Strong head--had to pull back on the pour to make sure the glass didnít overflow. Good rush of visible carbonation post-pour, and there are quite a few "moon bubbles" on the top of the foam and along the sides of the head. The beer itself is almost completely clear, and is a light gold. Good lacing.
S: Slightly grainy/grassy. Nothing special
T: Very good. A slight hoppiness comes on as it lingers. Ever-so-slightly sweet.
M: Smooth, yet crisp. Decent carbonation felt on the tip of the tongue, and very little alcohol as it goes down. Very refreshing.
D: Super-drinkable. Each sip leaves me wanting another. This one truly has "drinkability." If youíre going for one of the two brews from Metropolitan, Iíd recommend this over the Dynamo, but try both if you get the chance.

One word, summertime. The aroma is crisp and refreshing with a nice helping of noble hops. This is fantastic light body lager and is perfect for tipping a few back on the porch.

On tap at Hop Leaf Chicago (second visit). Deep golden, frothy white cap showing early lace. Grainy, sweaty aroma. Flavour of clean grains with fruity nuances. Finish is not bitter enough to satisfy my pilsener sensibilities. Iím surprised this is listed as 45 IBUs. Certainly didnít drink that way for me. Just okay.

I quite enjoyed this, sweeter than I expected. I thought it had a nice clean taste compared to so many lagers of its kind. Great, if you want a beer for warm summer days and donít want to skimp on quality. Serving:Bottle

This is a really nice lager w/ a few flaws. I like it though and am glad itís made in my city. It pours a golden orange color and only a small head forms on it. Full bodied for a lighter lager and perhaps a bit on the sweet side and w/ carbonation that just doesnít quite have enough vigor to keep it from feeling a bit sluggish. The flavor is good over all w/ a lemon/orange sort of citrus character and a firm earthy bitterness in the finish. Honestly, I feel like this is just a little bit of carbonation away from being a great beer. I am going to keep my fingers crossed and hope Metropolitan corrects this problem.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Jerryís in Chicago. Had the trademark spiciness that I find present in most Metropolitan beers which I feel pushed this beer from ordinary to pretty good. Good clean finish. Medium-bronze clear pour.

Pours a modest yellow color with a tall white head that fades down fast. Aroma is grainy with a noble hops note. Flavor has a crisp grainy pilsner note with some grassy noble hops characteristics. Body is light with a clean, high carbonation. Overall not a bad brew and one of the first brews from this company I might consider buying on a semi-regular basis.
