While pilsner is the most popular beer style in Poland, Browar Fortuna has refused to follow the crowd. One gulp of "Miłosław" is sufficient to realise that it is not just another lager. Its different flavour and aroma is attributed to the open fermentation process, as well as the varieties of hops used in its production. They are used by the so-called craft breweries, which target their unique products at smaller, yet extremely loyal groups of consumers on the lookout for something different in the world of beer.

500ml bottle (Małe Piwo, Warsaw) - Shared by Samsung - thanks Marek!
Pale. Pulsy latvian lager aroma. Odd calcium mineral taste. Simple bready malts. Drying bitter hops. Chemical finish. Floor cleaner pineyness.

bottle, bardzo dziekuje, ElDesmadre! Wow, a dry-hopped Pilsener! Clear golden yellow, large white head. Lovely hop aroma. Light and elegant malty base with lots of aromatic hops, very fresh, very intensive. A superb and well-crafted beer!

Thick light yellow head, fed by big bubbled metallic golden beer. Diacetyl! Thankfully (a bit) fleeting, leaving rainwater, malts,... and, yeah, butterscotch. More butterscotch, caramel, grassy pale malts. Underhopped. Spritzy feel, bit oily slickness, beefing up the light body a bit. Hmmm... Txs to Aga!

Bottle looks good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Starts mild, malty, modest sweet. Light spicy. More and more sweetish, also light soapy. Could be more balanced. Okay.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops. Botter, hoppy flavour and aftetaste. Rather thin and watery but otherwise quite agreeable.

Botltle. A golden pils with a frothy head, with an unexpectedly hoppy aroma, for a Polish lager that is. The somewhat piney hoppy aroma manages to outweigh the partly soapy maltiness, and even the small amounts of diacetyl fit in good with the rest. Light to medium body, tastewise this is a Bohemian style pilsener with a solid biscuity malty base, piney hops retronasal and quite a strong bitterness - again, for a Polish lager, that is. A pleasant surprise.
