I happen to like this beer. It does have a relatively light body, but that’s one of the things I like about it. It fills a niche...a highly drinkable yet flavorable dark beer. It’s a dark beer that allows you to drink several without feeling full. For the light body, it has a good amount of roasted malt taste. A nice mahogany color and pleasant aftertaste. This is certainly not even in the same class as most of the micro dark lagers, but Micholob did a good job with this.

12 oz bottle that pours a clear brownish amber color. Thin fizzy head that did not stick around or leave any lacing. Very little on the nose, maybe some sweet maltyness. Flavor is some roasted and caramel malts with some balance of bitterness and a little cardboard in the finish. Light to med body, lively carb, watery texture and feel. Nothing good or bad about this beer, just plain.

12 oz. bottle from a sampler. Dark amber color with a thin head, decent retention and lacing. Pretty generic roasted malt aroma with some light chocolate notes. Taste is roasted malt with banana and caramel notes. Odd flavor in the finish. Thin bodied.

A very average (at best) dark lager. Figured I’d try it since I tend to enjoy the other Michelob varieties. Flavors obvious in the caramels and malts--not distinctive in any way. Not something I’d enjoy often.

A true dark lager with a unique blend of roasted malts. Rich ith flavor and just plain nice to drink. Very smooth with a nice creamy white head throughout.

Pours a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, malts. Flavor is watery caramel and malts mostly. Easy to drink, but nothing about this beer really sticks out.

Dark brown with not much flavor or aroma. I’m not sure who the target market is for this beer.
