Appears to be just a darker colored version of the regular one... maybe some coloring dye ? Still its more substantial than any other AB beer... maybe their best.... I would not drink this one again.... unless I had to. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA

Easy drinker, nice balance, some hop bitterness under the sweet roasted malts. Good beer with a meal. mweber962000 (70), Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/20 | Jul 13, 2008 a nice light dark pour with a decent creamy head. the flavor is lacking although its good... just watered down too much. a good alterrnative beer. its always cosistantly good. but not great. about 5 times better on draft. in my opinions its abs best effort so far. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Deep amber, nice head.
Not much in the way of aroma, except faint malt.
Nice, malty flavor and rather sweet.
All in all, not bad for a macro. mctous (119), Herndon, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Amber Bock opens with a light, frothy head which dissipates quickly. The aroma nicely balances caramel malt and noble hops. While not very complex, the caramel malt comes through cleanly, with light but firm hops and just a whiff of lager-yeast sulfur. The mouthfeel has plenty of body and leaves some malt sweetness. While not my first choice, Anheuser-Busch still makes very good lagers when they don’t add rice! subcell (95), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA

It is nice and dark, malty and has a nice body. If you are a fan of dark beers that are sweeter and maltier that this is a good one. NeoHippie2 (173), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Ah, I was pleasantly suprised with this one. Finally, a michelob that I can call at least somewhat respectable. Pours a deep amber with a nice foam head. Smells interesting and sweet, caramel on the nose. Has a rather sweet taste in the mouth and it does go down as smooth as they brag it does so it gets points for drinkability. However, I challenge you to comment on the hop character of this beer...thats right, there is none. But, that aside, for the price of this stuff (about 7.00 a six pack for me) and considering who it is made by, I was impressed and I recommend it. posikyle (165), Alabama, USA
