Aroma is malty and sour, with strong breadlike notes and a low earthy hop character. Appearance is clear copper brown with an almost nonexistant off-white head. Flavor is grainy and slightly sweet with a carbonic note accompanying moderate bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a high carb feel and grainy finish. Overall, not bad, and fairly easy drinking; would like to try it on draught for comparison. jlucas5408 (18), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Got this at Buffalo Wild Wings when they ran out of Shiner in a bottle. The taste is that of a good amber beer and somewhat stronger than most I’ve had. Much better than most of what Michelob puts out. llbjr77 (72), Largo, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 12, 2008 For a "national" company, this is the best out there (cp. to Bud, Miller, Coors.etc) A dark pour with a lot of head. Light taste at first that fades quickly. WIll drink this over any of those companies (or any of their beers)mentioned above Grovlam (3809), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Draught. Small creamy off-white head that mostly diminished. Spare lacework. Clear amber color. Aroma of light malty notes. Over the palate came nutty, toasted malt, caramel, hint of bread. Light bodied with a lively carbonation. Light sweet flavor with hints of bitterness. Light sweet finish. ebrowner88 (113), Rice, Minnesota, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 8, 2008 hard to rate, not much here. Sweetish beerish fizzy taste then......nothing. This has been in my fridge for a year and a half and still tastes fresh! Fresh sweetish beerish nothing. Like a weak brown ale. Doesn’t taste bad. But not special at all. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Mar 7, 2008 it’s strange. when i first started to actually pay attention to what beers i drank, Amber Bock is what I would get. Now I have evolved beyond this beer and when i go back to it, I can certainly see the difference. Pours an amber color, but is quite translucent. The scent is quite bland and so is the taste. It goes down smooth, but has no finish. A very valiant effort on the part of Anheuser-Busch, but the evolution of most beer drinkers will take one beyond this one quite soon. tomthompson89 (1471), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
