Poured a clear caramel hued amber, tight foamy pale tan head, decent retention, a little ringed sticking at the top of the glass.
Faint aromas of roasted caramel and perfume-like floral hops. Doesn’t really smell like a bock.
I have no real complaints about the mouthfeel, crisp from the carbonation, smooth medium body, not quite light bodied, but more medium. Cloying sweet malty taste, honey caramel and caramelized sugar. The caramelized sugar really lingers on the tongue in the aftertaste. The malts are also a bit too thin tasting for a bock. The hops are barely noticeable, just a very soft spiciness. This is easy to drink or gulp, if you like. The sweet finish is a tad too much for me, I’m done after a couple of pints.
I sampled this at lunch today, went o.k. with the French dip sandwich I had. In my personal view, this is more of a dark/amber lager, not what I would call a bock beer DuffMan (2737), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada

Maple-syrup brown, low aroma of caramel. Low flavour also of caramel with a boxboard finish. Okay, for a buck, maaaayyybe it’s worth it. AWS9 (225), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

I was surprised to see it was Michelob as I was just told it was "Amber Bock" when my friend handed it to me. So I’m quite impressed for what it is, though nothing too spectacular. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 4, 2007 Draft into pint class. Not sure about the "amber" or the "bock" in the title. Dark brown colour with a disappearing tan head. Rather sweet flavour. Decent lager but nothing to try twice. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 29, 2007 Draft. Amber pour with a white head. Not "bocky" in the slightest, but a fair dark lager. Nose is mild malt and a slight herbal hop. Mild caramel flavors with a metallic twinge. Meh. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 29, 2007 12oz bottle. It was free, so what the hell. Pours a dark brown body with a small, quickly receding light tan head. Aroma is actually pretty good, full of dark malts, toffee and a pleasing sweet nuttiness. Flavor is more of the same, with the sweetness dominating, but I didn’t find it overpowering. Light bodied, watery palate. Finish is roasty and medium length. Good carbonation. Overall not terrible.
