Duellist17 (34), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 12, 2007 Neither an amber, or a Bock! Pretty much all I could find on tap down in florida a few weeks ago. Tastes like any garden variety American light lager with some darker malts sprinkled in. Blah... BOBANDDOUG (61), Belleville, Illinois, USA Aug 12, 2007 Pours adeep amber, smells like nice, roasted malt.
I detect some hops, and a lot of malt.
Finshes sweet, and just right. My favorite AB offering, behind Brewmasters Private Reserve. If nobody knew this was an AB product, i guarantee it would be a 3.00 average. bhensonb (4180), Woodland, California, USA Aug 8, 2007 A nice aroma, but of what? I’m guessing toasted malt. Dark brown color with a head that ringed immediately. The body is thin to medium, and the carbonation is moderate, but somewhat harsh. The flavor is dark caramel, and the hop is not there. The finish is roasty, toasty malt. Not sweet though. Good, but not if there are decent ales available. awwshiz (76), USA Aug 7, 2007 This beer doesn’t deserve such a bad rating, it’s because Michelob makes Michelob Ultra. It is mass produced, does have a full flavor to it and a good appearance also prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Aug 6, 2007 This is the beer I drink when the tavern I’m at has a choice of Coors Light, Bud, and Mick Amber, and no cans or bottles of anything remotely interesting. It does have some flavor, although it’s overloaded with liquid smoke or something, and the appearance at least lets me pretend to be drinking something better. GlenVargas (120), El Paso, Texas, USA Jul 30, 2007 Okay, I’ve got to be honest: this is by far the best option when you’re at a dive bar with a limited tap selection (Bud, Miller, Coors). I actually don’t mind the taste so much; it’s definitely got ten times the flavor of the pale lagers. Unfortunately, when I spend a night out hitting every bar within a five-mile radius, I usually regret drinking so much of this sludge by the next morning. alexsdad06 (1055), Ohio, USA Jul 30, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear deep amber color with a medium off white head that is mostly lasting. The aroma is light caramel malt and some general hoppiness. The flavor is very much the same. This is a much better alternative than most offerings from large companies. Easy to drink. ghouseguy (20), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jul 23, 2007 Bottle. Pretty good for a Michelob product which is mass produced. Would much rather drink a microbrew, but if this is all the corner gas station has to offer, it will do.
