On tap. Why are people writing dissertations about this beer? If this was tasted blind I would say pale lager with some pumpernickel bready malt. Aroma of worchestershire sauce and some caramel. No lacing no retention. Bready finish.

Bottled. A nut brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of caramel and metal. The flavor is sweet with notes of nuts, caramel, malt, and metal, leading to a dry metallic finish.

12 oz. bottle. Dark brown pour with light tan head. Too much carbonation. Light caramel, malt. You could do better for the price.

Overall Impression: This one’s half decent when you are talking about a American Macro, I certainly don’t go out of my way to get it, but when your choices are limited this can sometimes be one of the best options (I know, high praise indeed).

Draft at Sixth Ward. Pours a deep reddish brown, almost cherry-coke like in color, with minimal white head. Aroma of cherry, malt, and caramel. Flavors go right with the aroma: cherry and caramel with a bit of malt behind. It ends sort of flat. Fairly average.

NOSE: A slight carmel with the sweet malt. POUR:A dark brown lots of carbonation with a 2" head. little or no lacing. TASTE: Sweet malty flavor with notes of caramel. FINISH: I got nothing. A very drinkable amber but why not drink A nice full flavor beer if you are going to the trouble to drink a dark beer.

Brown pour with little head. Aroma was entirely pale malts with a touch of caramel. The flavor was much the same and I’m actually surprised at how light it was. Basically Michelob with a drop of caramel. Nothing too complex or too dark.
