Not much of an aroma to speak of; I might get a touch of malty grain. Flavor is drinkable, but well below average. Not impressed that this was the darkest beer at Mariners restaurant in Natchitoches, LA. I went to the Pioneer Pub for better beer. keith0718 (159), Olathe, Kansas, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Tastes really thin. Way too carbonated. I think I taste grain alcohol. Unpleasant finish. ZiggyG (131), Gladstone, Oregon, USA

Tastes has a nice sweetness but it lacks a balancing bitterness. Definitely my favorite AB beer, though thats not saying a whole lot. chrisok (77), Norman, Oklahoma, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Pours a medium brown with fizzy diminishing head. Very little lacing. Aroma is slightly malt, caramel and not very strong. Flavor is slighlty sweet with a finish that is lightly bitter and dry. A watery lager texture. Disappointing palate and finish. You forget it was there. mj (4993), Colorado, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Feb 4, 2007 Bottle. Disgustingly sour wood and rotted plum nose with a ton of diacetyl notes. I really don’t know if this was fresh, but it sure did smell and taste foul. Full of tinny caramelized malt syrup and maple and burnt corn, fizzy on the palate. This is easily worse than the regular Michelob or even regular Budweiser. With those beers there’s not a lot that can go wrong, but with this one there is a lot that went wrong. Bottle: Well, I had heard the hype from many a people, that this was a very good American macro. They exaggerated a bit. The head is thick at first, but dissipates in a matter of seconds. The smell is that of a darker lager perhaps, nothing too extravegant, but good nontheless. First sip was bitter, but went down smooth. This brew goes down the hatch well, but isn’t something that I’d buy regularly due to the bitterness and fillingness. Not a good filling, but "ooh, I don’t want to drink anymore" full. About 6 of these and I get a hangover in the morning, without getting much of a buzz reallly. Way better than most Anheuser products, but not my favorite. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA
