It’s actually a good looking beer and the fact that there is only ONE rating on this page (as of now) that rates it higher than a 3 in apperance suggests some major fricking bias.

Aroma....that’s another story. How does A-B get their beers to almost all smell the same? Bad. Stale hops and malts....has that lifeless musty smell like an old McDonald’s french fry from under your passenger seat as opposed the lively musty smell of old quality cheese from under your passenger seat. Who the hell have you been driving around in your car?

Fore is light bodied, mildly toasty with a faint sweet malt that hints (hints isn’t right....more like plays charades at) raisins and prunes. Finishes dry and nearly flavorless. Mouthfeel is actually pretty good for a lager. Damn near thick for a macro really. There just is precious there flavor wise, but at least what is present is not bad. It’s just not anything. hayduke (1629), Eureka, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2006 Every once in a while you need to take a chance on a macro to see if they have made any imrovements. From a bottle, this was actually better than I expected. Dark, with some nose of roasted malts, and an actual head. Little lacing however. Mouthfeel is clean and crisp, and flavor is a little sweet, but not too bad. Finish average. This might be the best things AB brews, at least of those I have dared. andyhite (290), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2006 great on draft. bottle ok. it’s a standard in my neck of the woods, so to look at it anayitcially is interesting. the review is for the bottle. the head is there, but not wonderful. it’s a lager, somewhat dark. it’s a very well rounded beer. wheaty, somewhat hoppy, more malty (caramel specifically on the nose) - both nose as well as taste. it’s a very simple beer, but one that AB has done well. the taste lingers, but does not leave a specific taste on the palate. it finishes rather clean and. as abnormal to most AB’s, not thin or lacking. Probably my favorite AB product because it sucks the least. Sweet malt with a tinge of sourness. Just not worth it. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 5, 2006 Bottle 44F lager glass. No real aroma, llight malty taste actually tastes of malt which was suprising. No hops taste, not as horrific as i expected. Not great, but tolerable. aarossell (151), Grandville, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 2, 2006 I like this beer. It’s super cheap, nicely rounded, not too light, not too heavy...not too much going on, really, but it’s not at all off-putting like all other AB beers. Nice lagery flavor, wheaty...yeasty...rich. Also one of the most beautiful typographical designs for any label I’ve seen. kudos. DrewTaylor (154), Michigan, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 26, 2006 Caramel brown color with a medium head. Sweet taste, fairly rich. Tastes how you would expect a Bock to taste from Am.Bush. emacgee (1864), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
