rotoguru (93), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA May 7, 2006 Tap... For a bud product this isn’t all bad; think of it as a dark Coors Extra Gold. And given the selection at sporting events this one was by far the best option. I won’t bother much with aroma (typical mass market beer), appearance (actually a nice clear medium brown), flavor (certainly drinkable), or palate (smooth, mass-market buzz-word for watery, finish). Just to clarify, I wasn’t actually at a "sporting event" so much as I was "The Wiggles" concert, so maybe this was helping numb the situation. That "Greg Wiggle" has really let himself go; you would think that a couple of 1 1/2 hour aerobic workouts of dancing and singing every few days would do wonders for the body, but he looks out-of-shape and was sweating like a pig; the least he could have done was prepare a change of wardrobe... don’t tell me they only have ONE yellow shirt handy! But if you get a chance to see "The Wiggles" I say take it! Oh, and this beer works fine in this kind of situation! cweb7 (39), Columbia, Missouri, USA May 6, 2006 Bottled, Not a typical AB beer. Drank one evening with roommates just to enjoy. For the price its a good beer to just sip on. Won’t turn one down when offered, and in my opinon one of the best american macro brews. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA May 2, 2006 For a mass distribution beer that can be seen at $5-6 for a sixer, this beer is not bad at all. Decent flavor of malts, brown sugar, and caramels. Not a beer to seek out, but a sure winner when only cheap lagers are present. cromni (13), USA Apr 30, 2006 Overall an inoffensive beer, doesn’t shock with bad taste or aroma, but also offers nothing to remember. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Apr 23, 2006 Bottle. Nice amber color with good carbonation and a thin, diminishing off-white bubbly head. Fair malty/hoppy aroma with brown sugar and roasty notes. Taste is not bad, but it lacks complexity and character. It ends with a short bitter finish. Boring Dark Lager. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA Apr 19, 2006 On Draft: Nothing really speacial. Pours a dark brown color with little to no head. The aroma is near non-existant. The mouthfeel is nice enough, but not great. And the flavor is really nothing really there, although what little is there is good, but weak. Brown sugar and some malts, but really can’t exaggerate nothing there, not bad considering what was on tap at the ’new’ bowling alleys bar. rebelbrewer (125), Lithonia, Georgia, USA Apr 9, 2006 On tap at Monterrey’s in Tucker, GA. 32 ounce frosted mug for <$4. The beer was a beautiful transparent dark amber color. The head was off white and minimal. There was lacing left on the glass as it warmed. I was surprised. The aroma was almost nonexistent and what there was slightly malty. The taste was somewhat sweet, but not overly so. It was good enough I had another. (I had dinner in-between too.) Pailhead (2572), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Apr 8, 2006 On tap: Sugary caramel aroma. Nice transparent amber with a small white head. Flavor is very sugary with some caramel. Somewhat grassy hop finish. Better than anticipated, but a little too sugary sweet. You can definitely do worse.
