The bartender tried to take me for a fool by telling me this was homebrew from Saratoga Springs. I quickly pwn3d him betting it was Michelob Ultra Amber.. Impressed he confirmed this was actually Amber Bock. This brew poured on the darker side. Light carmal malts and maybe some chestnut? Had potential but too watery and lacking flavor 2.35 CUJO (339), Brooklyn, New York, USA

There is a hint of hops and malts, but they are washed away by the excessive water and medium to high carbonation. stefanje (938), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA

The aroma is faint and dusty with caramel malts. The taste is bland with washed out caramel and some sweet hazelnuts. The palate is thin and watery with fizzy carbonation. The finish is short and unimpressive. Overall: Nothing objectionable, just another bland AB offering. WesKBob (321), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA

Flavor is weak, with a hint of caramel sweetness. Mouthfeel is thin and overly carbonated. A watery and bland beer. bluecollarboy (36), Illinois, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 23, 2009 Aroma is faint and slightly sweet with hints of caramel malt. Pours a moderate head and is somewhat clear for a deep amber brew. Tastes bitter upfront with and finishes thin and creamy. Amber Bock has a light body and thin texture, especially for a darker beer. The carbonation is soft and it finishes bitter. Overall, a decent brew from a macro, key words being "from a macro." Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 17, 2009 Pours a dark clear caramel brown with a small beige head that collapses leaving a bit of sheeting lace. The nose was initially a bit of wet dog that clears away to a metallic, roasted caramel malt. Light-bodied and aqueous with a finely spritzy mouthfeel and a mildly astringent/plastic finish. The flavor is fairly benign: it’s not offensive but it’s not particularly tasty either. It’s like a slightly refined caramel malt seltzer water. While it’s better than many AB offerings, unless you are in a craft beer wasteland, it’s really nothing special. Ryan82SM (240), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 17, 2009 Sweet caramel aroma, but not much else. More dark red than anything; the head was gone before I was finished flipping burgers. Sweet caramel malt flavor, maybe a little nuttiness in the finish. Palate was creamy, slightly lively. Not much else to say.
