Nuffield (2610), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Aug 12, 2002 This wasn’t disgusting in any dimension, and when it was served to me, I was actually impressed by its appearance, but basically this is lager with food coloring. Nothing interesting about it. (on tap in a restaurant/bar in Nevada, Missouri)
ben4321 (562), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jul 1, 2009 Overall Impression:
This one’s half decent when you are talking about a American Macro, I certainly don’t go out of my way to get it, but when your choices are limited this can sometimes be one of the best options (I know, high praise indeed). Tejas (650), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 27, 2009 Ehhh, it’s not terrible and it is drinkable. Probably an ok gateway brew ala sam adams. italarican (83), Astoria, New York, USA Jun 27, 2009 Draft at Sixth Ward. Pours a deep reddish brown, almost cherry-coke like in color, with minimal white head. Aroma of cherry, malt, and caramel. Flavors go right with the aroma: cherry and caramel with a bit of malt behind. It ends sort of flat. Fairly average. spiritsbeerman (8), Nicholasville, Kentucky, USA does not count Jun 25, 2009 NOSE: A slight carmel with the sweet malt. POUR:A dark brown lots of carbonation with a 2" head. little or no lacing. TASTE: Sweet malty flavor with notes of caramel. FINISH: I got nothing. A very drinkable amber but why not drink A nice full flavor beer if you are going to the trouble to drink a dark beer. Block (318), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Jun 24, 2009 Brown pour with little head. Aroma was entirely pale malts with a touch of caramel. The flavor was much the same and I’m actually surprised at how light it was. Basically Michelob with a drop of caramel. Nothing too complex or too dark. mwelsh13 (421), Maryland, USA Jun 19, 2009 Medium brown pour with no head. COrny in the aroma with some sugars. VERY light caramel flavor with a very light body. Not much else going on. Better than the ultra. CanIHave4Beers (561), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Jun 18, 2009 13th percentile? I’m guessing this is just mildly under rated, I expected to see it in the 20’s somewhere. Eh, what the crap do I know. Lets see if it’s worth a damn. Pours a darkish almost rust color with a small tight head. Aroma is mild, kind of roasty, a little chlorine some floral notes and a little sweet malt, it actually smells ok... the aroma could pass as a halfway decent beer. Flavor is a bit odd, a friend in college always said it tasted like mustard, I’ve never been able to shake that with this one. Flavors beyond old suggestive mental constructs are a little sweet malt, almost a bit of a tart flavor, some mild chemical flavors that don’t distract from the few mild and muted yet pleasant flavors in this beer, there is a mild hop bitterness but strong enough to be nice. Everything just seems so smooth and mild that it is lacking any real dominant flavors, which doesn’t speak terribly well for any beer. Boring but certainly quaffable in a pinch.
Palate is a bit watery. Maybe the 13th percentile is where this belongs, I guess I never really analyze this one when I’m drinking it.
ronaldtheriot (49), Laplace, Louisiana, USA Jun 15, 2009 Not really as good as Michelob, as it lacks bite, but certainly a fine beer. A good companion to cheese, crackers, soups, and shrimp. Good stuff.
