BlackForestCO (549), Fort Collins and Black Forest, Colorado, USA Jan 9, 2008 A friend of my dad enjoys this beer so I was offered one while at a gathering there. Poured a brownish deep amber color with a thin, light tan head. Slight aroma of caramel. Slightly roasted caramel flavor and not much else. Thin, but easy to drink. Not horrible, but not good.
dm9831 (620), Monee, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2008 clear, dark amber color, slight off-white head, some lacing. nose is mostly air, hint of grain. not much in the flavor department...only a hint of some kind of sweetness. musch to mild. watery mouth-feel, sweet water finish. a waste of time. not offensive, but hardly there is the first place. fidel (210), Livermore, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Dark brown, smooth, thin, roasted malt, caramel, little chocolate, little hops. vikingguy (53), Chaska, Minnesota, USA Sep 30, 2008 I happen to like this beer. It does have a relatively light body, but that’s one of the things I like about it. It fills a niche...a highly drinkable yet flavorable dark beer. It’s a dark beer that allows you to drink several without feeling full. For the light body, it has a good amount of roasted malt taste. A nice mahogany color and pleasant aftertaste. This is certainly not even in the same class as most of the micro dark lagers, but Micholob did a good job with this. unclemike (377), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Sep 30, 2008 dark brown with an ok head and a little lacing. has a light medium body and the aroma is light chocolate and roast and slo some hops. lets put it this way all of this beer is a bud or regular mich. with chocolate. pretty smooth and sessionable not bad there best beer i think johntreeter (115), Greenwood, Indiana, USA Sep 29, 2008 12 oz bottle that pours a clear brownish amber color. Thin fizzy head that did not stick around or leave any lacing. Very little on the nose, maybe some sweet maltyness. Flavor is some roasted and caramel malts with some balance of bitterness and a little cardboard in the finish. Light to med body, lively carb, watery texture and feel. Nothing good or bad about this beer, just plain.
