Pours a good appearance with a light head that disappears quickly. Looks like it should have more flavor than it does. Light mouthfeel, this is like an Amber light rarer than bock. Not bad just not good.

pours brown with a thin off-white head. faint nose of malt, dark fruit. flavor is more maltiness, a little brown sugar. dry-ish finish, but a little too watery.

Rando7 (489) - Iowa, USA - APR 15, 2010
On tap at local restaurant. Thin brown slightly cloudy with light tan head that disappears quickly. Taste watery lager with maybe a little caramel and roast, thin mouthfeel with minimal finish. Why did I drink this.

ChainGangGuy (3837) - Canton, Georgia, USA - APR 13, 2010
Appearance: Pours a clear, brownish body with a very thin, snow white head. Maintained effervescence throughout. Smell: Near vacant nose offers up a sweetish hint of darkened grains. Altogether bland. Taste: Slight taste of toasted grains featuring ultra light cocoa hints. Faintly sweet. Ruthlessly faint spicy, earthy hop character and bitterness. Faint, faint, faint. Drying, crackling-like-a-soda finish. Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Watery mouthfeel. Drinkability: Certainly goes down easily as there’s just not much going on. Amber Bock is a bock in name alone. I could call my cup of Rooibos Chai from Teavana a bock but that just doesn’t make it true.

weitz15 (340) - West Lafayette, Indiana, USA - APR 9, 2010
Dark brown pour, off white head. This beer has a thinner body than one would expect from the name/appearance. Overall tastes like a slightly hopped macrobrew, but what holds this back is the heavy aftertaste that reminds me of bud light.

A very good dark lager that has all the taste that it should, but doesn’t fill you up. One of my favorite beers!

A- nice brown color but no head. S- noticable malt character. T-not a bad taste but not impresive. not as complex as a bock beer should be. clean finish. P- too much carbonation to enjoy the taste. O- pretty drinkable. I would drink definately drink it again. a major plus is you can find it much cheaper than most bock beers. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-12-2007 23:59:40

FreshHawk (596) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - MAR 14, 2010
Bottle. A - Amber/Deep redish brown. Slight head that disappears pretty fast. S - Not much smell but some malt, that’s slightly toasted. T - Slight sweetness from a caramel and toasted malt. Also a little nutty. Very slight hop flavor. M - Medium body. Somewhat smooth and creamy. D - Easy to drink, and fairly enjoyable for what it is. Notes: This was something that I thought was a good beer when I first started. Seems like a good stepping stone beer.

Bottle. Pours brown with an off white head. Grainy malty aroma with a light sweetness. Similar flavor. Actually decent for what it is.
