I agree with most of the comments on here. Very good as far as macro brews go. Easy drinking, malty, dark beer. Slighlty dry finish.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a crystal clear mahogany colored beverage with a small fizzy beige head that was entirely diminishing and left almost no lacing on the glass. The aroma had a nice light roasted malt aroma with some caramel overtones. There were also very subtle floral hop notes in the background. The body was medium to light with lively carbonation and a somewhat dry texture. The flavor started off lightly sweet with hints of caramel malt. There was no apparent hop flavor but there was a very light hop bitterness. The finish was medium long, slightly dry and had a slight alcohol warmth.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2006 Bottled. Not a bad brew at all! Best attempt by Anheuser Busch so far. Pours dark, has a medium head that dissapates after a few minutes. Laces the glass as it gets drank. Malty aroma, a little hoppy, but more nutty. Good mouth feel. Tastes of nuts & malt. Somewhat on the sweet side. I happened to try this when my son brought it home from a camp out, and left it at my house!! I helped him out with it!!

I have a soft spot for the Amber Bock. Probably the best macro beer you can find on tap south of the Mason-Dixon line. Pours with a light head and a dark, transparent copper color, almost like a Oktoberfest. Missing most of the depth of flavor, but they did bring along some of the malty sweetness.

My first sip tasted like aluminum, but after that it’s an ok brew considering AB makes it. I can still taste that distinced AB use of rice in it on the after taste, but all in all it’s pretty good. If you are used to light lagers like Miller or AB, you might want to try a pint of this and than move on to something else.

This is not a horrible beer but it is pretty boring. It pours a transparent amber, off white head and mediocre lacing. It does have the nice sweet smell and taste of the Bock beer but it seems artificially sugary. The mouthfeel is light to medium light and mostly thin. It is crisp and has a very sweet finish. Other than being a bit boring it is suitably drinkable. I can understand the attraction when you have never had a beer other than the big three, it is different but simple cannot hold its own against other craft beers of the style.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

On tap at BW3’s in Worthington Ohio. As I proceeded to open a can of whoop ass against 15 other patrons in big screen triva, I took time to admire the clear amber color of this amber bock within my tall glass. There was virtually no detectable aroma and the head disappeared before it reached the table. Flavor was a slight roast of water that served only as a means to quench the sweet burn from the Mango Habanero wings that I ate while I drank this beer. It was worth the $2 happy hour price. All in all I rank it in the "OK" catagory.

Draught at Joe’s Place in Iowa City, IA. Clear dark reddish color with thin off white head. Smells of light brown sugar and subdued sprucy hops. You can also taste a bit of spruciness along with a distinct celery flavor that put me off a bit. Spicy and over-carbonated. Eh.
