I usually drink this one on tap when alternatives are limited. My overall impression is of a mediocre beer, really no distinguishing characteristic. The color is deceptively dark, more brown than amber, giving way to an overly light body without much hop character. Itís drinkable but could be smoother, and it heads well.

Found some old tasting notes, so I figured I should enter this. Poured from a bottle, and not exactly overwhelming with flavor. Nice crisp light flavors, and has a bit of the toastiness you get from darker beers.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.
Appearance: pours a thin off white head that drops slowly with the mildest of lacing. Color is a clear deep amber with no visible streaming carbonation.
Aroma: very, very mild. Just a bit of breadiness and slight caramel.
Mouthfeel: mostly light, slighty sticky with a dry finish.
Flavor: roasty caramel, bread crust, a bit of raisin and cocoa, with mild lingering hop bitterness.
Overall: nice, easy drinking beer that should pair well with many foods.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft, very thin head. Not much aroma. Lots of cereal flavor. Light caramel malt. Not the best representation of the style, however, it is light in body making it easy to drink.

Drank from a twelve ounce bottle.A decent beer by Michelob, most people hate Michelob, I donít mind them. This one has a slight caramel aroma but could use a little more roasted flavor. A pretty basic amberbock.

"also pleasantly surprising for a Michelob beer (even though i think Michelob in general is better than parent co. Budweiser). pretty well balanced and slightly enjoyable dunkel, if a little lite/thin."

There are worse ambers. These is a true session. It could have a more assertive caramel flavor, but thereís nothing offensive about this beer.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light but clean, almost flavorless dark beer with a wee hint of malts and a slight astringency on the finish. Watery but decently refreshing.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
16 oz draft pours a dark amber color with a small white head. Aromas of caramel sweet malt. Light bodied, a little thin but better than I expected
