A-B runs full-page ads for this in BYO, but considering how they boast about using rice right on the label, I don't see why. Decent enough color. Thin head fizzles away like any Budweiser. There's a hint of roastiness here, and a slightly bitter hop aftertaste that lingers briefly. Another mega brew, easily forgotten.
But it might have gone better had the bottle I had at Bennigan's not been served in their usual frosty glasses. How a place with over 20 beer taps care so little about beer stumps me. For the $5 they charged, I could have a fine imperial at any brewpub.

Pours a dark reddish with a small white head. The aroma is malt and caramel. The taste is sweet malt. Mouthfeel is thin and watery. No real finish, but an overall drinkable beer for what it is.

I had this at my sisters house. Pours amber with a white head. Taste malt, nutty. I thought this wasn't very good. I wouldn't drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Minocqua Pizza Co. Pour is clear brown with a medium beige head. Aroma and flavor are light toasted malt, faint hop, and light yeasty bread in the finish. I like this beer on tap. When surrounded by macros, this is my go to.

Sad there are still restaurants where this is the best beer option. Caramel malt and, uh....

I’ve sampled this more than enough times. I’ve had this more than enough times in pint glasses but also in pilseners and honeslty, there was barely any difference between the two. The appearance was always a nice looking hazy amber to red color with a semi-decent transparency letting some carbonation to be seen rising. The head was about a decent one finger white foaminess that quickly dissipated and left no lacing. The smell had a fairly decent amount of caramel malts that seemed fairly authentic. There was nothing burnt or overly cooked. It was good. The taste was sweet through the caramel malts. The palate sat at/about a nice light to medium and showed a fairly decent sessionable quality about it. Overall, I say this wasn’t a bad American Amber/Red Lager, its a fairly decent one worthy of having again.
