2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 edgallow (1086) - nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 6, 2012
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2012 Pours a cloudy (unfiltered) yellow-orange color with a head that stands up about 3/4 of an inch tall. Head quickly reduced to a ring of foam that only covered the outer ring of the glass. Smells of bready/wheaty malts and spices. Taste is similar to others in this style, but I found this beer to have a slight metallic taste towards the finish.
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 jcweaver (697) - VA Beach, Virginia, USA - OCT 19, 2011
Bottle. Pours a hazy dark golden with a decent white head. Nice aroma of bubble gum and clove with hints of lemon and banana. Flavors of clove, lemon and banana with a hint of some other spice. Decent for a German hefe and also for A-B.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 wlajwl (2907) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - FEB 2, 2011
Decent if faint banana and yeast aroma, not a horrible interpretation of a hefeweizen.
2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 pinkandgeek (56) - Georgia, USA - DEC 15, 2010
A pleasant carbonation is offset by the watery, sour finish. Not enough of that yeasty punch that I like out of a Bavarian style beer. On a hot summer day, it may hit the spot.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rampmaster (642) - Alden, New York, USA - SEP 2, 2010
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a tall Pilsner glass. There appears to be no freshness date only an odd bottle number. (09232 VB49)
Appearance: This beer has a hazy and bright straw yellow colored body with a nice two to three finger white head. The head fades slowly and its lacing is slick.
Smell: The aroma is full of nice banana and some light clove notes from the yeast which also adds nice bready notes to the sweet wheat maltiness in the aroma.
Taste/Palate: There is a tasty sweet bready/wheaty malt base with a nice fruity yeast character that adds to the base maltiness. The banana notes are sweet up front then dry out a touch towards the finish. The body and texture have an average medium feel with average carbonation.
Notes: This is an all-around solid beer in my opinion and one that I would like to see it by itself in 6 packs.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Edmoe (229) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUL 9, 2010
Pours a hazy pale orange. Head dissipated almost immediately. No lacing. I can smell the sweet aroma from feet away. On closer inspection a sickly sweet smell overpowers everything else. Smell artificial orange flavoring and something that smells vaguely of circus peanut candy. The more I smell it the more unpleasant it becomes. An otherwise completely average hefe weizen is made worse by artificial orange flavoring and watery mouthfeel. This is more like a beer flavored soda than a beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 alexsdad06 (3043) - Ohio, USA - JUN 14, 2010
12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow color with a medium sized off white head and decent carbonation. The aroma provides a nice whiff of banana, some cloves, yeast. The flavor is primarily banana with cloves, yeast and wheat playing secondary roles. Light-medium bodied, refreshing. For what it is, this wasn’t a bad option at a party with non craft beer types.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 BanjoDude (57) - Kingsport, Tennessee, USA - APR 30, 2010
Definite banana and clove aroma and taste with a phenolic aftertaste (which is something I desire in a Hefe-style). Not too bad, but not the best in this style.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Poobah (200) - New Orleans, Louisiana, USA - FEB 26, 2010
Pale golden color with barely any head. Clover honey nose with hints of banana. Smooth entry and with a moderately carbonated mouthfeel followed by a finish that includes banana, cloves, satsuma and some smokiness. A little watery but not bad.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 CelticBrew (747) - The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA - FEB 3, 2010
Pours clear and with small head. Not much like a wheat in appearance, but the nose has some clove and spiciness, as well as a sweet malty aroma. Flavour is sort of like a light wheat beer with some nice hop bitterness to finish.
