Bottled. Nut brown with brief head. Vague caramell aroma. Sweet short toffee flavour. Light bodied, smooth and without bitterness. Unfortunately one of the better beers on Taiwanese beer shelves.

This was it -- the one that started me off on beer drinking. I thought beer was awful, because i had tried the íking of beers,í and that was a joke. then, in 1986, the fall of my sophomore year, i found mick dark. sure itís lousy compared to what i love now, but it was something i could drink, and even enjoy then.

Bottle. Poured a deep amber with an average white head that diminished quickly. Sweet roasted aroma. Light to medium body with a thin texture. Smooth malty flavor with a short finish. Drinkable for a macro.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2009 What did they do, take a regular Mich and add some dirty socks to it? NASTY. Malty and grainy. Not worth the effort. seriously.

To me, this tastes like a slightly maltier version of Michelob. Which isn't saying much, but at least some of my scores got out of the cellar.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2007 This was the one of the few choices for dark lagers 15 years ago. Seem nice and strong back then but now there are many other better choices. LIght molasses malt aroma. Dark brown color. Light brown sugar malt flavor. Really not bad for a BMC product. Above average American macrobrew.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
355ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger of white head that leaves no lacing behind. Aroma is light toasted malts and faint hops. Taste is light toasted malty sweetness with a mild hop bitterness. Not one of the better dark lagers out there, but it is smooth and easy drinking with no off flavors.

We used to put peanuts in the bottle before we drank this when I was a kid. That way, you'd at least taste something. I once had this at the brewery tour in Williamsburg, and I must say that it was the best thing that ABC had to offer at the time. Not much has changed.

For macro crap, this one isnít bad. A nice nut aroma followed by a nut, roasted malt, and slight caramel flavor. All in all, if I had to drink macro from Anheuser-Busch, Iíd drink this one.

I have almost no recollection of this one at all, but I do have an old rating siting here, so Iíll add it to RB...
Old Rating: Tastes like Michelob but a different color
