2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 KingPinHead (390) - Des Moines, Washington, USA - SEP 23, 2002Aroma hints at some roasted malts, but is mostly neutral. This looks as if somebody dropped some caramel cola coloring in it--fizzy macro head--some soapy lace...Flavor does feature some malt, but little balancing hops here...tell-tale tang in the finish...Carbonation is excessive, and accentuates watery palate...Still, not a bad-tasting product, a reasonable alternative to most of the mainstream macro lagers out there.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 reebtogi (3388) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 10, 2012
355ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger of white head that leaves no lacing behind. Aroma is light toasted malts and faint hops. Taste is light toasted malty sweetness with a mild hop bitterness. Not one of the better dark lagers out there, but it is smooth and easy drinking with no off flavors.

I might not be drinking the right beer, or maybe the label was changed, anyways. I am drinking "Michelob Amber Bock Dark Lager". It is pleasant and dark, but hard to escape the big MICHELOB on the label staring at me.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 futre7 (112) - Taipei, TAIWAN - OCT 13, 2011
Bottle , 7-11 Taipei City .Got some hateful reviews this one. Thoroughly undeserved also. I actually like Michelob and the dark isn’t a bad beer at all. Okay it isn’t a ’real’ dark beer but most of the lagers on the market are false tasting crappy macros. Nose is dark malt with a nice pour and thin head. It has a mild burnt malt taste with a thick malty mouthfeel. In Taiwan it’s 5.2% not 5% so the extra strength means yoiu get your moneys worth.
1.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 solidfunk (1919) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 29, 2011
I’m rating this on memory because I don’t really want to have to drink another one. I’m gonna second the dirty water comment below - I wouldn’t go so far as to consider it a proper dark, just crappy lager with food colouring.

Pours a lucid coffee brown, nose is like a wet dog and a struck match, tastes like dirty water.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tnkw01 (601) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 19, 2010
Bottle. This one is mostly on memory. This was a favorite of mine back in college. My friends said it tasted like "motor oil". From what I remember it had a burnt toast, coffee type of taste. It was dark it color and I liked it. I guess I’ve always loved dark beer.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 ben4321 (3032) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUL 1, 2009
Overall Impression:
I have almost no recollection of this one at all, but I do have an old rating siting here, so I’ll add it to RB...
Old Rating: Tastes like Michelob but a different color
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 Beardface (1509) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - APR 29, 2009
Basically tastes exactly the same as the regular Michelob except that you get a hint of dark malts in the aroma and flavor. Still subpar, still better than most A-B products.
0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 BlackDonald (1127) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 8, 2008
So they take a regular Michelob, take some caramel malt and burn it to a crisp, added it to the Michelob recipe and hence you have Michelob Dark. This sucks, don’t waste your time if you are reading this.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2009 What did they do, take a regular Mich and add some dirty socks to it? NASTY. Malty and grainy. Not worth the effort. seriously.
