| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours deep amber brown with a beige head. The aroma is fruity, wheaty, and spicy. The flavor has toasted, maybe even lightly smoked malts, wheat, banana, and spices. Well balanced, very drinkable, and quite tasty. It’s true, A-B makes at least one decent beer. nearbeer (1887), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 20, 2009 12 oz. Opaque, darkish copper-brown with a big head of foam that settles into a lasting quarter inch. Nose is banana, clove, caramel and light metallic wheat. Flavors of spicy yeast, caramel, and banana-nut wheat bread. Medium body is slightly watery, mostly smooth on the carbonation, and acidic-dry. Bits of soapy lacing are left on the glass. Nice example of the classic style. Butters (1688), Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Bottle. Very hazy purplish red with big tan head that fades to a ring with decent lacing. Banana, wheat, and yeast aroma is surprisingly pleasant. Flavor dark wheat, plums, sweet malt. Body is medium chewy and effervescent, with moderate carbonation. I don’t care what anyone says about AB, this is actually a good, inexpensive brew. 00cobraR (1103), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 12, 2009 a good effort, but just not quite there. pours out a murky brown color with a medium head. aroma is a weaker version of your typical dunkelweizen as is the flavor. Just not quite there. Aurelius (2655), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 12, 2009 Gummy, molasses and fruit aroma with that distinctive wheat musk. Good embossed 12 oz bottle, good label, clear walnut brown beer with fizzy-beady light bubbles. Herbal, horehound candy flavors over molasses.
Don’t let it get warm - it goes vacant. Medium mouth, bubbly at first but it quickly loses carbonation and gets papery. True to style. Pretty decent pricepoint beer.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2009 Bottle. Overpowering yeast aroma with a dark amber color. Although it does have the hazy appearance you might expect from a Weizen, its body still lacks that full yet effervescent quality of a true Weizen. The banana yeast characteristic is really toned down and one dimensional. What else could I have expected. Trader Joe’s example is better not just because of the price, but the depth of flavor this beer missed the boat on. Bradrcr (785), Renton, Washington, USA

Yeast is forward, as it should be, with a nice roast background. Appearance is hazy brown with a medium white head. Flavor is citrusy, caramel sweet with a solid yeasty roundness and moderate bittering with faint earthiness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a spritzy carb feel. Overall, very cool and complex with lovely flavor. chrissy (122), Connecticut, USA
