3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - JAN 22, 2013
Backlog rating 12-01-2008. This bottled beer pours a medium sized ivory fizzy head with a poor retention span, fast-rising carbonation, hazy body, one ring of lacing, and an orange and slight golden hue. The aroma is wheat, clove, spicy, banana, and malty. Ditto for the flavor. The mouthfeel is tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, the clove and banana dominate this beer in both aroma and flavor and made it enjoyable to drink and rate.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2012 12 oz bottle, brown with a tan head. Nothing special here, just a basic unfiltered wheat beer.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - NOV 21, 2011
From old tasting notepad: Tasted from bottle into standard pint glass. Poured a hazy, reddish-brown color with creamy beige foam, long-lasting with fine lace. Aromas of wheat-bread, toast, toffee, coffee and cream, pepper and clove yeast phenols, very faint hops. Rich, complex malt sweetness with just enough hops bitterness to balance. Notes of carmel, nuts and fruits. Medium body, well-rounded mouthfeel. Fruity, spicy finish. Nice elevated alcohol percentage, well-hidden. Who knew Anheuser Busch could produce such a tasty, nuanced, bottle-fermented beer? Sure is too bad they retired it.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hayduke (2933) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 11, 2011
I understand this beer has been discontinued. I guess the idea they could make decent beer is just too much for Anheuser-Busch InBev. This poured amber with a nice off-white head and good lacing.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ronaldtheriot (782) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JUL 11, 2011
Michelob Dunkel Weisse has a medium, creamy, beige head and a clear, copper color with lots of bubbles streaming up and nice lacing. The swirl & pour did not cloud it up, surprisingly. The aroma is strong on banana and light on wheat and clove. Taste is banana, some wheat, and a wonderful hop spice. Hops show up as well, and this really gives it a tasty balance. Lots of ticklish carbonation with this, and there’s also a smokey aspect. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Michelob Dunkel Weiss finishes clean, refreshing, and super-drinkable. Too bad it’s gone, because it’s really outstanding.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Chudwick (1084) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - APR 22, 2011
Bottle - pours a cloudy, dark amber with light tan-colored foam which disappears quickly. Aroma is banana and wheat but smells artificial like banana extract. After drinking it I detect a smoky quality. Taste is sweet and a tad bitter. Overall, a good find for a domestic alternative for when people are on a budget.

UPDATED: NOV 3, 2012 Reminiscent of German Dunkelweizens in taste and aroma, not nearly as strong as the best, but decent enough.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 MarkBarnes (349) - Waterville, New York, USA - DEC 30, 2010
Dec. 30, 2010; 12 oz. bottle. Rated this beer tonight (picked up a stray bottle for 50 cents in my grocer’s bargain bin) with every expectation of giving it the low grades of which most A-B products are so richly deserving. But . . . surprise! This dark wheat beer is quite good. Lovely aroma -- which I didn’t expect at all -- of overripe fruit. The flavor bursts fruity esters reminiscent of -- dare I say it? -- a good Belgian ale! Critically speaking, it does have its flaws (a bit watery in the finish and lacking a solid malt backbone), but let’s give credit where credit is due. This Dunkelweizen is a remarkable effort, and a welcome departure from the usual swill shipped from St. Louis. Would definitely buy this again.
2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 SanfordBrewer (1343) - Sanford, Florida, USA - DEC 12, 2010
Hazy amber, thin beige head, medium-thin body, high carbonation.
Aroma: bavarian yeast with esters of bananas and clove, roasted malt, tart wheat.
Taste: roast malt, burnt wheat, bavarian yeast esters, vegetal hop bitterness.
Color and aroma are surprisingly good. Body is thin, and flavor is thin and stretched. The yeast is great, but the malt bill is weak.

aroma of alcohol, fruity and spicy malts and yeast a hint of wheat in the background..odd dark brown cloudy appearance thru which no light gets through, cream colored head not much lacing..taste is thin and quite watery though, theres a slight hop tingle and otherwise a faint sweetness atop a white bread flavored blandness no aftertatse to speak of not very bad,but flavors could be more distinct and powerful
