Bottle. Poured ruby red with a light brown head. Sweet caramel aroma but also a light alcohol background like a medical alcohol prep pad. Faint flavors of malts. Light body, sweet throughout, dry. Just ok.

Michelob Irish Red 10/23/08 (bottle. Aroma is sweet, of cream, sugar, and malt. Flavor features malt, candy sugar, toffee, and a strange skunkiness. Not terrible, but definitely on par with my (low) expectations.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 scooterbub (667) - Lander, Wyoming, USA - OCT 20, 2008
Bottle from a sampler pack. Pours a dark ruby red with a decent tan head that slowly fades. Taste is of roasted malt and caramel. A little sweet with a slightly dry finish. Aroma is of malt and caramel. Very easy to drink is pretty satisfying. For the price this is a pretty nice beer that is worth having again.

Tasted 10/9/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a reddish hue. Slight off-white head. Malty aromas with hints of caramel and cooked sugar. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Crisp effervescence and a solid bitterness. Bready and slightly spicy with hints of toffee. Decent hop presence. Nice bitterness rolling from spicy malts to the hop finish. Well played!

for a macro, this is a good beer. Much better than coor’s offering of killian’s. Smooth beer, not too heavy, bland aftertaste.

nice red color, malty like it should be. Ok mouthfeel. It was an ok beer, nice try at an Irish red. It’s Michelob, what do you want?

Deep amber/red color with a nice dark tan head. Mild caramel malt aroma and a slightly sweet taste with a cascade hop finish. A little off the mark.

Not very good. Too malty, way to over powering. Michelob’s Irish Red Ale kinda reminded me of drinking an IPA, which are just nasty. If you like strong over powering hops and malt, you’ll enjoy this one. If you’re a Sierra Nevada fan, you should try it. I’m not into those coppery tasting beers, so I have to give this one a thumb’s down, sorry.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cybercat (2453) - Georgia, USA - OCT 5, 2008
Aroma is a bit weak, but crisp and fairly malty. Color is a reddish gold, what one expects from a beer that is called "Irish Red." Flavor is so-so, better than most Michelob beers I have had - not complex but pleasant and malty. Texture is smooth, fairly typical. OK for parties.
