The Irish Red Ale is an all-malt ale brewed with toasted caramel malt to naturally produce its signature red color. Its fruity nose and initial malt sweetness is a classic interpretation of the style.

Not very good. Too malty, way to over powering. Michelob’s Irish Red Ale kinda reminded me of drinking an IPA, which are just nasty. If you like strong over powering hops and malt, you’ll enjoy this one. If you’re a Sierra Nevada fan, you should try it. I’m not into those coppery tasting beers, so I have to give this one a thumb’s down, sorry.

Aroma is a bit weak, but crisp and fairly malty. Color is a reddish gold, what one expects from a beer that is called "Irish Red." Flavor is so-so, better than most Michelob beers I have had - not complex but pleasant and malty. Texture is smooth, fairly typical. OK for parties.

toasty aroma that fits this autumn, malt and hint of bitter aftertaste, another decent brew from a-b

clear dark copper, frothy off white head, minor lacing. aroma is malty sweetness, hint of mustiness. caramel flavors, slighty musty malt. medium bodied, too sweet a finish for my taste. interesting that anheuser busch is attempting to cash in on the craft beer market. i got this in a 20 bottle michelob craft sampler case from sam’s club,

Bottle from Michelob Craft Collection at Sam’s. Poured clear dark amber color with a large frothy off-white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate sweet malty aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet malty flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

First selection from their sampler pack. Pours light brown/dark red color with a fast dissipating tan head. Sweet caramel aroma and not much else. Roasted caramel malt flavor with some toffee and a slightly hoppy/metallic finish. Could be worse, could be better, you has to at least credit Michelob for trying to make decent beer.

Bottle from a sampler. Deep red color with an off-white 2-finger head. Fruity and slightly grainy caramel aroma. Taste is caramel and other grains with an earthy finish. Some fruitiness. Not very complex, but fairly pleasant.

looks clean, has a nice average bit of malts and hops in the beginning but the finish is not good with astringency and metallic like flavor. average at best.

The aroma is weak but does have some toffee, caramel, hops, and toasted barley malt. The appearance is amber with a big head. The flavor is like the aroma but slightly metallic. The palate is thin but OK. Overall not bad but not great.

Pour is a dark red with a small tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts with some breadyness. Flavor is more malts with some sugar and a touch of chocolate. Finish leaves a wee bit of hops on the tounge. I thought this would be a lot thinner but this is a pretty heavy ale. Nothing really wrong with this one and i could see my self trying this again.
