mikey (321), farmington, Utah, USA Feb 23, 2007 Poured a clear copper color with a finger of white foam. The nose was faint of graham crackers and malt. The taste started with a nice dose of malts lending itself to a slight nutty sweetness followed by a mild bitterness. The mouthfeel was on the lighter side with a creamy adjuct sweetness. This is a pretty decent rendition of an Octoberfest. Its not a flavor powerhouse, but it’s straightforward enough. This AB offering suprised me. I would classify it as "light" Marzen. Probibly my favorite offering from Anheuser-Busch.
dm9831 (620), Monee, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2008 clear coppery gold, weak head, mild lacing. nose is mostly air; maybe a hint of floral hops. flavor is a nebulous suggestion of sweetness, and maybe i was imangining it, but perhaps an indication of hops. watery bodied, slightly bitter finish. forget about it. i already have. superdude1979 (38), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 11, 2008 overall much better than I expected. I find that many of the macro octoberfest beers have a strong spice flavour followed by nothing - which really makes for an undrinkable beer. Marzen however was smooth, though to toally contradict myself I tasted no spice whatsoever. mcjay (80), Neenah, Wisconsin, USA Oct 7, 2008 Golden color with a thin white head. Light malty aroma with a mild hop taste and a bitter finish. Not a good Marzen. GMUcrew7 (205), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Sep 26, 2008 Part of their sampler. Transparent copper color with off white head. Straightforward malty aroma. Same flavor, tastes like an Oktoberfest mixed with regular michelob, definitely has the macro corn lager taste in the background. Pretty disappointing for a Marzen. BEERGUY007 (177), Scotia, New York, USA Sep 26, 2008 12 ounce, new variety pack. Amber color. Not really anything to get crazy about. It’s your standard beer. A little malty. Off white head that was very full, and then disappeared quickly. So what?
