As I recall, this was a very tasty macrobrew. Malty goodness and smooth.
subcell (94), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA Jun 30, 2008 Damn... tuff crowd to please. As I live in the US and not in Germany I think this is the best damn Marzen for the money. I have had a lot of the micro brew fest beers and I feel as though I am drinking hops not beer. I thought this was well balanced and delicious for a mass producer in the US. phishpond417 (1110), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jun 20, 2008 clear copper colour with a medium sized vanilla head. aromas of soft caramel and touch of roasted malts. little spice and as mentioned a touch of skunkiness. kind of weak for a marzen. daknole (492), Plantation, Florida, USA Jun 11, 2008 Eh, I have grown tired of trying the Mich beers in hopes that they actually brew a good one. I give up. mweber962000 (48), USA May 31, 2008 very good seasonal brew from a mass producer. great price for the beer. pours a light dark with a head that kinda sticks around. hey for 4.99 a sixer this is worth a shot in october. middle of the road in every category cant complain. looking forward to having again. ab has a decent go at a product but not close to other styles like this like spaten. PilsnerPeter (1311), Flushing, New York, USA May 6, 2008 Bottle: This was on my desk throughout my experience at Union Beer; then I rightfully claimed it at the closing of my career. Light copper, watery looking with weak spotty head. Aroma is sweet cereal flakes, cheap caramelized barley, rotted prunes and hay. Watery body. Very mild toasted barley with some sweet brewing flakes and a caramel hint. The finish has a smidgen of grassy/peppery cheap hop notes. Not the worst out there.
