1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Tasted bottle from mix pack into standard pint glass. Clear, pale golden color with medium off-white foam. Aromas of faint, oxidized hops aroma, a hint of grain. Flavors were weak as well: just a bit of bread, caramelized brown sugar, hops bitterness. Fermentation wasnít as clean as lager, but not as much fruit and body as you want from an ale either. The brewers make a point of distinguishing it as an English Pale Ale, as opposed to the more aggressive American Pale Ale style, but this is a weak and watered-down interpretation no matter what.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Michelob Pale Ale has a thick, creamy, off-white head with an orange tinge and a clear golden-orange appearance, with lots of bubbles streaming up. Lots of thick lacing is left behind. The aroma is mostly bready barley malt and a faint spice. Taste is initially malt, but then a fairly strong hop bitterness kicks in and lasts throughout the sip. Mouthfeel is light, and Michelob Pale Ale finishes refreshing and semi-dry. I hate to see that this one was discontinued, because I really enjoyed it. I must have gotten the last batch, because this tasted fresh.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong dry hopped flavor and aroma, not a lot else. Seems more like a APA, but needs a lot more to be that, as opposed to a EPA.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
I have to say, this is a bit of a departure for Michelob, as it seems that when it comes to any "specialty" varieties they produce, they have a tendency to be a bit heavy-handed with characteristics that would be immediately considered. Not so with their Pale Ale. There is almost no aroma to speak of, but does foreshadow a bit of the kind of sweet malty character of this relatively bland offering. Really, the dull malt flavoring is its primary feature, with a thin palate, standard brownish copper appearance, and surprisingly clean finish. Not bad, not good. Disappointing as I was either looking to love or hate it, but does not inspire any extremes one way or the other.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Was pretty disappointed in this. Canít really tell you what I tasted because there wasnít much taste. It had a faint hop aroma.. possibly citrus but the taste was pretty watery.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Extremely weak for a "pale ale", this is a disappointment in a bottle. Nearly no hops present at all. Watery start that builds to a mediocre finish.
