Commercial Description:
Michelob Pale Ale is a classic English-style pale ale brewed with classic noble aroma hop varieties grown in the Northwestern United States and Europe, as well as two-row and caramel barley malts. With a dark-gold color, this beer has a spicy, hoppy character. A pale ale pairs well with full-flavored meats, like steak. This beer is best enjoyed in a tall, fluted pilsner glass.

Poured a pale yellow/amber hue with a good size fluffy cap. The nose was of citrus and light floral hops. The taste started with good malty character followed by a low dose of hops. The malty character dominates throughout tilting the balance away from the bitterness. The finish was crisp, dry and malty with a light-medium bodied feel. The bottle says it’s dry-hopped but it sure doesn’t taste so. Over-all this is an average Pale Ale slightly thin and sweet, yet very drinkable. For an AB beer it’s not too bad.

From bottle. Light gassy-tinny aroma, with a bit of bland fruity hops. Not much sweetness. Some apple skin. Dull amber-golden clear, with thin foamy white lacing head. Medium watery body with light-medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of malt sweetness, followed by an apple-sour tang and carbonic acidity. Light fruity hops in the finish with some mild bittering. Some diacetyl. Dull tang in the after.

It’s a light golden colored beer with a fully forming and well lasting, wispy head of foam. Nose is disappointing, mainly dominated by dirty and unclean aromas, but also has a touch of malt sweetness and a light hint of medicinal and herbaceous hops. Flavor is poorly balanced and doesn’t show a lot of cohesiveness in the malt or hop character. Hardly much flavor at all, besides husk, dirty malts and medicinal hops. Yuck.

Thin, lightly malty and a touch of grassy hops. Not bad for a quote on qoute craft beer from AB, still not up to par in my opinion.

Poured a pretty light amber color with a small white head. Aroma was very bland, almost pale lager like. Flavor was a bit more thick and smooth than that with a mellow flavor and hardly any hops.

This is not by any means the greatest Pale Ale that I have had but it was pretty good. I think AB is doing a good job trying to make beers that are not carbonated pee! I am thankful for that as they are actually affordable and I like my beer. This was thin in body for a Pale Ale which just means I was able to drink more.
