As I recall, this was nothing special.
Nate (2234), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 29, 2008 From bottle. Light gassy-tinny aroma, with a bit of bland fruity hops. Not much sweetness. Some apple skin. Dull amber-golden clear, with thin foamy white lacing head. Medium watery body with light-medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of malt sweetness, followed by an apple-sour tang and carbonic acidity. Light fruity hops in the finish with some mild bittering. Some diacetyl. Dull tang in the after. Crosling (1637), Loveland, Colorado, USA Aug 24, 2008 It’s a light golden colored beer with a fully forming and well lasting, wispy head of foam. Nose is disappointing, mainly dominated by dirty and unclean aromas, but also has a touch of malt sweetness and a light hint of medicinal and herbaceous hops. Flavor is poorly balanced and doesn’t show a lot of cohesiveness in the malt or hop character. Hardly much flavor at all, besides husk, dirty malts and medicinal hops. Yuck. BlackDonald (1040), North Carolina, USA Aug 8, 2008 Thin, lightly malty and a touch of grassy hops. Not bad for a quote on qoute craft beer from AB, still not up to par in my opinion. Beerman6686 (680), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 Poured a pretty light amber color with a small white head. Aroma was very bland, almost pale lager like. Flavor was a bit more thick and smooth than that with a mellow flavor and hardly any hops. subcell (95), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA Jun 30, 2008 This is not by any means the greatest Pale Ale that I have had but it was pretty good. I think AB is doing a good job trying to make beers that are not carbonated pee! I am thankful for that as they are actually affordable and I like my beer. This was thin in body for a Pale Ale which just means I was able to drink more.
