COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Michelob Porter is brewed using the finest classic aroma hop varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest United States and two-row, caramel and chocolate barley malts, giving it an aroma of coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is dark brown in color and, when held to light, ruby-red highlights can be seen. The porter complements a variety of cheeses, shellfish dishes as well as chocolate desserts, and is best enjoyed when served in a traditional pub style glass.

This would be much better if it wasnít so watery. Nice pour, a deep mahogany with some reddish highlights and a creamy tan head. The aroma is faint, some lightly roasted malts and brown sugar sweetness. Also water. The flavor is more burnt than roasted, but thatís not too overbearing because itís so thinned out. A little more sugar, a touch of chocolate. Drinkable, but easily forgettable.

Nice brown color, small off white head that had a short hang time then faded quickly leaving nothing behind. The aroma was lightly malty with some mild roastiness and a mild chocolate thing going on.The flavor was not that great but not to bad eather for an AB brew.Light malty side with a bit of a roastiness coming through and a slight hint of chocolate,Some mild hops showing in the end and a decent but fleeting bitterness.Again nothing special but itís worth a try.

12oz bottle from the sampler pack - Pours brown with a pretty nice creamy tan head that stayed well. Aromas of chocolate and light roast. Flavor is roast, chocolate and mild coffee with some caramel. Light well carbonated body and roasty on the finish.. Average..

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown[almost black] with a lasting amber head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla and a hint of coffee. Palate was light bodied. Flavors of chocolate, roastiness and a hint of vanilla with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Pours very dark brown with a little fizzy tan head. Aroma has light notes of coffee, and toffee, but itís very light much. Flavor is pretty much like a nice lager with a little extra flavor. Thereís some nice hints of coffee, and little roasted malt, but like the aroma, itís very light. Palate is light and thin, a little too fizzy, but thereís a nice nice light note of bitterness on the finish. Overalll, itís a michelob, never real good, but never real bad.

Pour is a almost black with a small tan head. Aroma is pretty nice mix of chocolate and roasted nuts. Flavor is a bit weaker then the aroma but still pretty nice with some chocolate and coffee showing up. Finish is sweet but bitter. It would be easy to dump on this brew b/c of who made it but i would say this is a average to slightly above average porter.

Bottle from the 2006 sampler pack. Pours a dark brown with a little head. Aroma is a little bit of chocolate and walnuts? Taste is a little weak on the porter side, but for A-B is beer is a MAJOR accomplishment. Me like it.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2008 Tried this again recently and decided to re-rate. Poured a dark brown color with some ruby highlights and tan head that didnt last. Aroma had a bit of a smokey smell to it. Tasted okay at first, but the more I drank the less I liked. Had a smokey taste that I didnt care for. Could I have a Fullerís London Porter please?

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (roasted/burnt grain/popcorn, chocolate, husks). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Very simple but mostly inoffensive aroma, decent appearance, very grainy finish. Not particularly enjoyable, but Iíve definitely had worse.

A credible porter from a macrobrew. Barley and roasted walnuts in the nose, coming through in the well carbonated palate. Earthy textures hint at some complexity, mingling with malty sweetness. Slight coffee undertones. Overall, fair but not amazing.
