2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
"a little thin for a porter...maybe more on par with an average american brown ale. not bad, but not something worth buying again, especially with all the more robust porters out there. "

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The body has a thick, dark brown color with deep crimson highlights. On top sits a creamy light tan head that builds up tall before fading down to a thin covering that just hangs on till the last sip. The lacing is slick and slides down the glass just behind the head. The aroma is very sweet. There is a lot of sweet roasted malt with hint of caramel and chocolate. Also there is a very slight non-descript hop presence coming though as well. There is a big roasted malt sweetness with notes of honey, dark caramel and toffee. In it there are some light coffee and dark chocolate tones as well. Hop flavor is very modest but adds some bitterness and mild piney notes. The roasted flavor and light bitterness quickly fades off the tongue in the finish. The body is about medium with a very creamy and slick on the tongue. Its carbonation is soft but still in good balance

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from 2007 as a joke at a bottle share. Pour is reddish brown with barley noticeable tan head. Aroma and flavor include faint chocolate, coffee, and hop bitterness. Actually not too terrible.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
December 2009. From bottle. Pours very dark brown with a short tan head. Some roasted malt characteristics, chocolate, but too watery to really be good.

Bottle. Possibly the worst porter on earth. They get points for giving it a go though. Far too sweet.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
355 mL bottle. Not a bad intro to the style. No head, and a little thin, but the flavour is decent, if a little one-dimensional. A little sweet up front - could use a touch of roast.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
reddish brown, clear...small light tan head. Nose is cola and chocolate. Decent chocolate taste, fairly sweet, itís easily drinkable and a bargain to boot. Itís REALLY not bad, actually , considering itís a macro from a giant corporation...I think it deserves a good rating for just that reason. Iíd keep a six around for kicks. Above average offering from A-B...

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours crimson brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is malty with hints of chocolate and some hops. Watery and malty with some chocolate and coffee notes. A hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Drinkable.
Deep reddish/black colour with mediumsized brown bubbly head. Aroma is chocolate, malts and some slight hops. Flavour is malts, chocolate and coffee along with some slight hoppy bitterness. Rather tasteful and drinkable beer, which leaves a big dark chocolate aftertaste.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Dark, opaque reddish-brown with medium beige head. Malty sweet with hints of caramel, toffee, coffee, chocolate and lots of residual roasted barley. One of the only Anheuser Busch products I buy. Sure, itís not quite as rich and complex as some imports and microbrews, but itís a good, dark, all-malt ale and often about $6/6-pack on sale.
