Michelob Porter is brewed using the finest classic aroma hop varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest United States and two-row, caramel and chocolate barley malts, giving it an aroma of coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is dark brown in color and, when held to light, ruby-red highlights can be seen. The porter complements a variety of cheeses, shellfish dishes as well as chocolate desserts, and is best enjoyed when served in a traditional pub style glass.

A good porter. Dark reddish-brown, almost black in color. Nice aroma of cocoa and coffee and cream. Medium palate, not too heavy. Taste is pretty good. Nutty, chocolate, and coffee notes all within a smooth brew. Finishes clean.

Bottle from 2007 as a joke at a bottle share. Pour is reddish brown with barley noticeable tan head. Aroma and flavor include faint chocolate, coffee, and hop bitterness. Actually not too terrible.

December 2009. From bottle. Pours very dark brown with a short tan head. Some roasted malt characteristics, chocolate, but too watery to really be good.

Bottle. Possibly the worst porter on earth. They get points for giving it a go though. Far too sweet.

355 mL bottle. Not a bad intro to the style. No head, and a little thin, but the flavour is decent, if a little one-dimensional. A little sweet up front - could use a touch of roast.

reddish brown, clear...small light tan head. Nose is cola and chocolate. Decent chocolate taste, fairly sweet, itís easily drinkable and a bargain to boot. Itís REALLY not bad, actually , considering itís a macro from a giant corporation...I think it deserves a good rating for just that reason. Iíd keep a six around for kicks. Above average offering from A-B...

Bottle. Pours crimson brown with a medium tan head. Aroma is malty with hints of chocolate and some hops. Watery and malty with some chocolate and coffee notes. A hint of hop bitterness in the finish. Drinkable. Deep reddish/black colour with mediumsized brown bubbly head. Aroma is chocolate, malts and some slight hops. Flavour is malts, chocolate and coffee along with some slight hoppy bitterness. Rather tasteful and drinkable beer, which leaves a big dark chocolate aftertaste.

Poured from bottle into nucleated pint glass. Dark, opaque reddish-brown with medium beige head. Malty sweet with hints of caramel, toffee, coffee, chocolate and lots of residual roasted barley. One of the only Anheuser Busch products I buy. Sure, itís not quite as rich and complex as some imports and microbrews, but itís a good, dark, all-malt ale and often about $6/6-pack on sale.

12oz bottle from Pickís poured into an English Pint. Born on the 349th day of 2009. This one has been in my fridge for a while. Pours a very dark brown, almost black with almost no head. Has a very nice chocolate and coffee aroma. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Strong coffee taste. Medium bodied with a thin yet creamy texture. Fizzy carbonation and a long coffee finish. Overall, this is a pretty damn good beer. Iím sure if you kept the beer the same but took off the Michelob name and added the name of Sierra, Stone, FFF, CC, Mikkeller or any other brewery known for good beer it would have a much higher rating.

Enjoyed at my cousinís house for his sonís 2nd birthday party. When he gave this to me I was a bit hesitant, but he said it wasnít bad and they do not get many porters in his area. Iíd agree, not bad stuff, kinda thin for a porter but still contains those chocolate malts with a bit of coffee.
