Commercial Description:
Our Rye-P.A. is a robust beer with distinct bitterness that is similar to many IPA’s, but balanced by complex malt flavor and the spiciness of rye.

Pours dark copper with a small beige head. Mild hop aroma. Stronger hop flavor, grapefruit hops with a nice distinct rye bite. I think this is a pretty good beer, take away the label and I think it would be rated slightly higher.

Bottle from 12oz sampler pack. Not much aroma, reddish with tan/off-white head. Not much hop flavor (isnt this an IPA?), a little malt, toffee flavor. Not very good at all.

12 ounce bottle from a mixed 12 pack. This has a nice aroma with some sweet notes of gingerbread and some spiciness attributed to the hops and rye. Somewhat metallic, too. Transparent dark copper with a quickly dissipating off-white head. Has a nice herbal hop flavor to start, before it sweetens just a little with some maltiness. Some of the smoke/herbal rye flavors come into play, with a lightly bitter, earthy hop finish. Not too bad, but it seems a little dry for me.

Pours dark amber with a fluffy beige head and a nondescript aroma. There is a slight amount of caramel malt flavor, sort of toffee-like, and some hop bitterness. Very average (is that an oxymoron?).

12 oz. bottle- I’ve never had a Rye P.A. before, so this is new to me, pours dark amber with little head. Aroma is bread and malt, the flavor is very malty and somewhat sweet. Overall it lacks depth and isn’t very good, the worst michelob beer I’ve had.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark red brown with a rocky off white head, strange. Aroma is light on the hops for an IPA,a bit grainy, some rye, a bit of dark fruit, muddled all around. Flavor starts with lots of caramel and toffee. Gets some fruitiness and picks up just a bit of chocolate. Very strange. Some hop bitterness in the finish but so little hop presence. Medium body and a very soft carbonation. Really weird beer, tastes more like an amber or weak brown ale than an ipa. After warming some, the hop flavors get a bit better so i will raise the score slightly.

I was actually surprised here. Clear amber (almost copper) pour. Thick tan head and spotty lace. Aroma is this beers downfall. Toffee and corn. Citric hops, toasted malts, caramel, and toffee. Bitter & dry finish. Bitterness lingers
